Stoke fans miffed we got Osmajic …. greedy gits!!! You have to wonder whether both Stoke & PNE are using the same independent scout? Many clubs now don't employ scouts as we remember them, but take information from free-lancers. I've only just learned this from a friend who was a rover's junior age scout, then United asked him to join them. He's now free-lancing and gets paid a commission for players he finds. This could be going on with players at PNE level. I doubt otherwise we'd have scouts all over Europe. Good post, that could explain why North End are always being followed by Stoke & Boro. Didn't realise that

Think Lowe alluded to some agency in his interview regarding signings. I have been told our new striker was 2.2 million he is our most expensive signing.

We needed a big summer and Risdale has delivered. Dipped into Europe aswell, just what the fans wanted.
Over to Lowe now.

Pretty sure the club did everything they could to get Cannon but he chose Leicester over us after they offered more than the 5mil we agreed with Everton.. can’t blame any of the 3 parties involved imo. Very good window (although it’s time that decides how good) but I’m still a bit disappointed at not bringing in a LWB-I get that Millar plays on the left wing but he’s very right footed!!

Imagine the Cannon to Leicester deal falls through! 👀👀👀 It could well have… I can see Daka going to Saudi, apparently Greece, Turkey and Saudi windows don’t close until late next week.. The whole window situation needs sorting imo, it should close no more than 2 weeks into the season and it should close everywhere..Also West Ham and Luton playing during the deadline seems unfair!! 2.5 billion spent during a cost of living crisis!! The world and football in general has gone mad!!

On my opinion the transfer windows should all shut before the season starts. Never understood why it goes weeks into a season!

Hands up, a bit underwhelmed by the signings of Holmes and Keano, but oh my they have proved the difference so far this season 👏👏 Long may it continue

Big fan of Holmes! He’s won me over quickly. Keane I always thought was class. We’ve had a great window. 34 more points to safety then let’s see what happens! Think Leicester will win the league but nobody else looks exceptional…

Got to agree with Mooney, the quicker we get to the 50 point mark the better. Got to guarantee safety first before we push on to glory. Hopefully this is our season to shine.

I have to say that I have been won over by North End's recruitment. Potts has won me over as well. Mads looked good but, on Saturday, Holmes was a brilliant replacement. Don't know whether Millar can play LWB but he is left - sided as is Brady /Hughes. Albeit I prefer Hughes as LCB. We now appear to have a balanced Squad with cover all over the park. In addition, we have a lot of players who are young enough to make good progress with their Careers. Noted that DJ did not start on Saturday & did little to embarrass us. Saved £17k per week there then. Not getting too carried away but we are fighting above our weight, not conceding goals & now have goal prospects with a record signing to yet show us what he can do. Happy days

walburghian, I agree that recruitment has been excellent this summer, for me an 8 or 9 out of 10! Holmes seems to me to be one of those players that buzzes around making a nuisance of himself and can change a game. Mads has the class to become special. Millar/Osmajic seem to be exciting players (I wouldn't mess with Osmajic...he looks 'well ard'!) It's unfortunate that Ramsay and Stewart aren't available, but both have a great pedigree and should come good and Whatmough seems like a huge upgrade on Bauer. All told, excellent. I would personally have liked a LWB and maybe a couple more outgoing players to make room in the squad, but you can't have everything. Potts has been excellent so far, along with the much maligned Ledson. Storey and Hughes have started strongly as well... all of these were players who were pilloried last season, so what has made the difference? Slight tweak to the style of play? Storey not being asked to be a playmaker and concentrate on defending? New coach? Either way, long may in continue! UTW.

Biggest change for me is that without Whitman RL had had to change his tactics, no more passing from defence into the pivot looking to then go wide to the WB’s. This has meant that players are doing what they are good at, McCann and Ledson are decent championship CDMs if they don’t have to play a passing game, all the CB’s can defend well!!
The signings have looked good because we are winning, i still think DJ is probably a better player than Holmes or Mads, but obviously age isn’t on his side at the wages he was on. Whatmough again looks a bit better than Bambo in everything except pace and power but as we are playing deeper pace isn’t as important. Keane has been the best of the signings that we’ve seen imo, a massive upgrade on Parrot!!
Such a shame we haven’t got Alvaro this year but hopefully Brady comes back strong and Millar can do a job despite being right footed..
Be interesting to see if we change the formation when we have more that 1 striker and Whitman returns or we stick with the box midfield of 2 cdm’s.
Great start though and looking positive when we actually have some options from the bench

The transfer window has been a good/different one@ going to Europe has helped. Mads reminds me of Mooney (not moons here!!! Haha) can't wait to see our hero from Montenegro! All in all 9 out 10 for the transfer window. TOP OF THE LEAGUE and #teams like Preston!!! Haha

I was slightly worried when in the last contact season phase when Browne, DJ, Davies and Pearson were OOC in the summer. But now, not worried at all about the OOC players, because I’ll back the club to sign better players. Lowe has an eye for a player, or we’ve gone with a more data driven strategy. Either one it is working.
The boot is certainly on the other foot, you’ve got to earn the contract and want to play for Preston North End. And I put that down to Ryan Lowe.

I think that Brady's impact may be limited with Millar coming in on Loan. I would prefer a younger lad who has less risk of injury.
