Morning everyone, Not got time to do a massive thread, but thought something is better than nothing. Ryan Lowe's boys are travelling across the M62 to Yorkshire/Humberside (a similar debate to some of the unitary authorities in the County Palatine of Lancashire, but let's not go there!) to play against Liam Rosenior's resurgent Hull City. They are in great form, whereas PNE are...well, least said soonest mended I guess. For now, let's be positive and hope for the best. PNE face Hull without Evans and Whiteman (suspended) and as you all know, Riis is out for the season. In terms of players, they showed real character and spirit for the last 20 minutes against Luton and we can only hope that a corner has been turned. Parrott hit that penalty so hard it nearly broke the net. He meant that! Last season... We played Hull at a similar point in the season, and grabbed a 1-0 victory. I'm not going to name the scorer, as it's too painful, but if you wish to remind yourself, click the link: The opposition have lost 3 in 14 games, so will go into the game confident, although a midweek defeat gives them a recent loss. Their key man appears to be Oscar Estupinan, and with 12 goals this season, he's scored nearly as many as PNE. The man in the middle... always look this up to see if there's any history. Apparently the guy who reffed against Bristol City grew up in Kirkham and learnt his trade in the leagues of Blackpool! Ominously, I have found out the following for tomorrow: Sam Allison will referee his first Championship fixture this weekend.
Allison – a firefighter and former semi-professional footballer – took charge of his first EFL game in the 2020/21 campaign, and he’s regularly officiated in League One and League Two ever since.
So far this campaign, Allison has been refereed 24 games, showing 73 yellow cards and four reds in that periodA new ref to the level is always a worry! Team selection - we know that Ryan won't pick DJ, but I would for this game (yes I know... and every game!). I suspect the line up will be: Woodman Storey Cunningham Hughes Potts Ledson McCann Alvaro Browne Parrott Cannon Oh - last thing, did you know that Hull City is the only football league club that contains no letters that can be coloured in? Onwards and upwards!

Ordinarily I always go to Hull....90 mins all motorway for me...but disillusion with the club , manager, and standard of football this season has put me off. However I shall be decorating at my daughter's and watching the paint dry will be very much the same thing.
Clearly anybody with any sense would pick the only creative midfielder we've got, DJ. so that's him ruled out.
Just hope that McCann is fit ....nasty bang he got the other night. He picks himself as does Alvaro.
I'd settle for much the same team as Mooney with the exceptions of Ledson (embarrassingly out of his depth at Burnley...just could not cope with the pace), Cannon (lot to learn and doesn't hold the ball well enough) and I'd controversially change the keeper. I'd have just one at the front (better to have one not in the game than two) . Hence
Cornell Storey Cunningham Hughes Brady Browne McCann Alvaro Potts Parrot
Afraid I think Woodman has been at fault recently (could have done better with two of the goals last Saturday) and his kicking and general distribution the other night were poor. Cornell has done alright when he has played, hence I'd give him another go.

Yes, I know what I'm doing.
We've put in more of a shift, played better and even scored with 10.
Nobody can argue with that.

Away support is fantastic really...just shows the club has real potential , as does this season's ST sales.
Regrettably those running the club havn't sufficent confidence or ability to back this.
I just hope those going tomorrow have a better day than last Sat.

Is it me or do others think he speaks through his a.s? We haven't got Whiteman through his Red Card but will he start DJ? Don't be surprised if he doesn't. There are issues there that I & others do not know about. However, if we can afford £17k per week, exactly why is he not picked? Or sold in the January market? Crazy

Maybe nobody else is prepared to pay DJ so much? Hence he's now just sitting out his contract and looking forward to a signing on fee elsewhere......I'm sure other clubs will want him but I'd be surprised if it's ones above us, be more like a Barkhuizen move. Which brings us back to the q.of what He's been offered by way of another contract...a significant cut I expect, hence he's not signing and bec he's not signing he's not being picked. Only explanation I can think of for bringing in Onomah on a short-term deal to provide cover.
Clearly are big issues within the club with regards to future funding.

Be careful, I'm an axe victim Hung up on these silver strings Like wings, like time machines Like voices on the winds We hit the road to Hull Sad amps and smashed guitars Played badly at The Duke To almost no applause But someone made it worthwhile
Only mention of Hull I know

Maybe I've misunderstood Mooney, I was told the other day that DJ wasn't signing a new contract , not that he had not been offered one in the first place. It's just ridiculous the way the place is being run. ------------------------------
“And Hull?” had asked Aga Khan, after an interchange of platitudes. “How does a man reach Hull?”
The publican wiped the small round table for him, and chased a beggar out of the saloon before he answered. “Going to Hull, are you? Well! You know the saying? ‘From Hell, Hull, and Halifax, Good Lord deliver us!’ You get there by train from King’s Cross Station, but if there’s anything in that saying it ought to be a good place to keep away from!”

Better players on the bench we start with 9 as Potts and Ledson are starting.

I used to think at least there are a few worst teams than us in the division, but after that 1st half display, I doubt it, Cannon and Delap another great comedy duo! We would be top of the league if you got a point for giving the ball away. Anyway, chin up and looking forward to a super 2nd half!

Dont know who you're all listening to?
Played on the front foot and got stuck in. Good value for the point so far. Fans singing all game and no groans.
