HT 0-0
Fans on the teams backs from the off. Team look nervous and players arguing with each other. Lucky to not be losing. Woodman looks like he's on edge. Why do we take so long at throw ins and goal kicks?
On the plus side.... Fernandez having his best game for a while.

FT 1-1
Much better second half. Got rid of the nerves and went on the front foot. Looked much better.
Could have won it!

Team hug at the end says it all for me. They know the fans are on their backs etc and it looks like they've decided to dig in and sort it out. We need fighters in the team to stand up and lead. Something we've been missing.
Fernandes best game for us. Found out how to defend as well. What has happened to Wooodman? Looked great up until the world cup. Now looks nervous and forgot hoe to kick the ball.

Only watched on red button but Ali McCann an absolute hero, booked early, broke his nose, kicked in the head, looked very Pearson like in some of those impeccable challenges got to be MOM for me

From minute one he was absolutely on it. Fernandez a definite close 2nd. Excellent game for him and even played a midfield role after the red and did it well. Honorable mention for Troy too, who I thought looked good. First half was depressing usual stuff. 2nd half much better particularly after the red. Luton should have really took 3 points with their chances but they didn't and this could be a massive result for us.. Lowe sprinted straight down the tunnel at half time and full time, and the players were clapped off for the first time it what feels like an age. Well earned, lads.

We didn’t really deserve anything from the game, they had 3 or 4 good chances to our 1 chance and the penalty. I can’t tell if the players are behind RL or just want shut.
Thought the ref was poor, never a red imo and I thought they were very lucky with a couple of decisions; I think if we had crowded the ref like they did for the Whitman challenge they would have been shown reds!! The 2 handed push on Hughes for the chance their lad blazed wide was so obvious even he couldn’t believe a foul hadn’t been given!!

Nailed on red 71..soon as I saw it, two feet off the ground straight through the back of their player...a leg breaker. Nobody complained over the red, you could see Whiteman expecting it. Totally unnecessary challenge as well. Now he's out for 3 games.
Still left the ground withj a 'feel good' feeling...forgotten what that was like. A more objective assessment may well be that we were very very fortunate to get anything.....Luton should have been out of sight by half-time, profligacy continuing into the second half. Until their defender kindly letting us back into the game we managed one shot into the side netting!
What goes on in training? Woodman's kicking was shocking. When the opposition are pushing up why oh why is he playing short balls to players who , looking towards him, can't see players closing them down. Even when they get it they have to lay it back to someone, or risk turning on the ball or a square pass across the back. Potts was so panicked after receiving one ball he played it straight back out of play for a corner.
Even throw ins were repeated cock ups...5 times in a row in the first half ther ball was played inaccurately back to the thrower, even going out twice. It's rubbish.
Concur entirely with the views on McCann and Fernandez...pair of them gave everything. Whilst Parrot was off the pace it was still good to see him celebrate the pen the way he did. clearly meant a lot to him.

Why have we signed Josh on a short term deal if he’s not fit?

Because we are trying to establish new club records.
If it had not been for the Luton defender sticking out his arm last night and for them missing glaring chances we would have set a new record (worst since the club was founded in 1880} for the nos. of consecutive home defeats.
We've already got the one for the number of goalless games this season.
This signing was to add to the total tally of signing crocks in a decade, Olusunde, Kirkland, Wickham, Brown etc

As Daws points out, there is a consistency of signing perennially injured players. They are about & we should avoid them like the plague. We keep doing it, irrespective of the Manager, so we know where the common denominator is. Question, is PR trying to set a record for a Chairman bankrupting clubs. Hope I don't get banned or prosecuted for asking what a lot of Members are thinking.

Another point, why cannot RL motivate /pick DJ to play. I'm not saying he's not droppable but he is our most expensive player, he is our most creative player, we don't score goals etc etc. Most of us know that, whilst Strikers take all the glory, someone has to set them up & we haven't got anyone - apart from Whiteman occasionally - who does. RL is not using his brain but his heart. Don't know how they fell out but it is quite obvious - & the results speak for themselves. Please go RL, together with the Riddler.

As inexcusable as it is infuriating. I'm also feeling conflicted Daws. I'm happy with the result and the manner that we responded to the red. But as everyone has rightly pointed out, this could have been another hammering on another night.

DJ masterclass at Blackburn. Is that the last time we scored a few goals in a league match?

Hope I don't get banned or prosecuted for asking what a lot of Members are thinking. The whole signing of injured players is such a PNE penny pinching idea, but without wishing to contradict anyone, it goes back much further than P Riddy's days. Get injured players means we can get 'better' players cheaper! Mellor we signed injured. The year was 2006. I think Derek Shaw was probably chairman then. This is what was said at the time: Manager Paul Simpson said, "Neil is a goalscorer and hopefully that will continue to be the case. He is a tremendous signing. He has had his injury problems but we are happy he is over those and it's just a case now of building up his fitness levels." Another knee injury suffered in a pre-season friendly against Bolton Wanderers required more surgery and delayed Mellor's debut for Preston Neal Trotman failed a medical and we still paid £500k for him despite this. At the time, he had played fewer than 20 games for Oldham. He played 3 games for us. Ian Ashbee - signed without a medical at the insistence of the manager at the time. Maurice Lindsay was chairman then. I am sure there have been many, many more but I have listed the three most obvious ones that happened prior to Ridsdale being at Preston.
