Preston North End V Luton Wednesday 15th February 2023 Deepdale Stadium  I’m feeling strangely confident about this one despite having no evidence whatsoever to back my thoughts up. It’s Deepdale under lights and I always fancy us in that setting. Luton are sitting pretty in 4th while North End cling on to a top half place. We are still closer to the play offs than the bottom 3. Will the supporters be happy with 3 points? On the face of it a stupid question but it seems to me that fans want Lowe out no matter what and if three more defeats make that more likely then so be it. A toxic situation no doubt. If we go one down and play static football things could get quite nasty quickly. Ched is a huge miss and many of our decent performances recently have his name on the scoresheet. Asking loanees to fire us to glory is asking a bit much at this point with the team playing so poorly. We have to get back to being solid defensively because early season when we couldn’t score we had clean sheets to fall back on. I’m currently in London, what a way to celebrate the boy’s 18th, from the ridiculous to the sublime. Bought him his first legal pint at Turd Moor on Saturday and last night we finally got to dine in the restaurant of his favourite chef, Heston Blumenthal. Was amazing. We booked the dates so we’d be back for Wednesday night, so Ryan if you’re reading, PICK JOHNSON. He’s the only player we have who can pass in a way that would make Cannon and Delap effective.
Another loss inbound. Lowe out.

I'm going to have a pleasant walk around Arnside and Siverdale on Wednesday and a good lunch (recommendation welcome). I'm working on the basis that if I have an enjoyable day I'll be able to bear what's to follow in the evening.
I don't mind losing if it leads to \Lowe out (even if the person who needs to go first is Ridsdale...the thought of him selecting another manager is another cause for despair)...however it won't happen. It would be just another manifestation of his uselessness and his ego is too big to go down this route. (Remember when Leeds were relegated from the Prem with enormous debt , it was all O'Leary's fault and that of other directors).
Anyway, on the night, I'll be behind the team as usual. I hope for, but won't get;

Im actually thinking id rather watch City, v Arsenal!!
i'll be at Deepdale but its really difficult to watch at the moment..
be interesting to see if Browne starts after his post around us having "no tactics".. i think the players have stopped backing the manager, which i think is a shame for the lads on loan..

Agree about Arnside F and C..highly rated.(Opens 4.30 Wednesday). Some of the cafes still on winter hours . Half term this week over here. If stuck try the cafe at Leighton Moss.

I was expecting the chippy to be closed at lunchtime ...and during my walk I shall amble through Leighton Moss with my binoculars. (It's a while since I had a pie from the bakers in Arnside...very rateable). Of course, such talk will all be beneath Mooney who seems to only dine at Hester Blumenthals, seems even Northcote Manor isn't good enough for him.
Feel sorry for Diaby...I thought he played well when in the back 3...but what does Scouse Westley do next? Pick him as rwb and we have not seen him in a starting line up since. It if wasn't for Storey trying to give Browne some cover on Saturday and making some decent interceptions I'd be quite happy to see Storey start.
Lindsay had a poor game on Saturday (not on his own)...with him I think it's a case of getting back on his horse.

Thanks for that MMP. I feel that another defeat will ramp up the Supporters ill-feeling & there will be no way back for RL, & hopefully PR. If RL continues with inept Tactics based upon hit & hope from 2MFs to 3 inexperienced Strikers, you can only conclude that he has lost the plot. Against Burnley, we needed to crowd MF & deny them the opportunity to find passes to their skilful players. Dyche did this for Everton vs Arsenal & we were doing it early Season, so what is going on?

Something has happened between Johnson & RL, or he would be in the Squad /playing. RL cannot leave his most creative player out & play Woodburn. He is inviting our Supporters to question his judgement - which we are.

Daws lovely area one of the pubs in Arnside was a North End pub back in the day and a coach used to run from up there (pub on the corner near the pier and another North End pub in Milnthorpe next to traffic lights. My gaff is further up in Holker Hall and maybe a little far but my go to pub is in Cartme The Cavendish. I wont be there as I am having a break in Scarborough I have given my season ticket to one of my boys sadly the thrill has gone (great song) enjoy.

Until recently (Brady, Lindsay, Woodman) I don't think it has been so much a case of gifting goals but of an inability of the midfield to get hold of the ball and play it forward...we've not been getting possession so inevitably the defence becomes under pressure.
Makes it even more ridiculous not to play someone who can pass the ball accurately from midfield (DJ).
Note, like myself, braddy, you have opted for one forward and packing the midfield. Pointless playing two when they are not in the game.
