The statistic which is most telling to my mind is that only 2 teams have scored less goals than PNE - Huddersfield & Cardiff, & I think they both beat us. To be in the position we are in is remarkable in these circumstances & speaks wonders for the Defence. I suspect that if anyone could find statistics that showed "shots on goal", we would be bottom. Barn doors and banjos come to mind. You can play badly & win if you've got Goalscorers. Archer is last chance saloon, if we can still afford him.

More Bull from Lowe tactics, formation and appalling choice of players. Dawson I agree with you I was wrong Ledson is league 2. Rils forget him and Browne 19k a week -sell him.

PS I enjoyed the pre-match singing...highlight of the afternoon. What a terrific voice...best we have had since Russel Watson. I’m sure the singer is Sean Maguire’s wife Yes it is

Keeper? About the same as the one who is now at Blackpool I suggested that a while back……Freddie is average……not much better, if any, than sweeper keeper

Before posting I like to have a period of quiet reflection. I consider that this avoids any untoward knee-jerk reaction and a contemplative approach, whilst probably too conservative and restrained for many, this has the merit of achieving a more rational and objective appraisal. So here goes: - what utter garbage - what a joke of a manager -------- 3 at the back clearly isn't working at home, so he continues to persist with it. Ok there isn't a rb, but there isn't a rwb for a wb system. Subs needed making shortly after half time..when it was evident that Huddersfield were beginning to get hold of the game...again far too late. And as for personnel; Ledson...average? Really Sup. Maybe average in L2 but he's rank p poor in the Championship , spent most of the game watching it. Played one good ball all game, only time he threaded the ball on the deck as opposed to hitting waist high balls on the half turn. Potts, Woodburn...not good enough. The lack of any real pace in the side is alarming. As always you’ve hit the nail on the head. Pity neither the manager nor the board can see this. Have been going to Deepdale since 1949 and enjoyed the good times and the bad. Particularly during the 1950s when Preston were rated one of the best. Sadly age coupled with the current sterile football means that this is coming to an end. Can’t be bothered forcing myself to trail down to the ground. Hope to exchange my season ticket for a junior one and give it to my grandson. Don’t you like your grandson Tommy!….

This thread and probably the result would have been so different if Woodburn had been able to finish. His most glaring miss from where I was sitting seemed to be his free header in the first half.
The sad thing is that a couple of months ago the home displays upset me and even angered me. Yesterday I came off and I didn't give two hoots and I still don't today.
Can someone more knowledgable about football than me, explain why we rarely shoot from just outside and inside the area?

If RL can't explain it (the home form) and hasn't got the answer to it then, on his own admission, he is not the man for the job.
Scouse Westley (albeit in this case latter would offer a ludicrous self-justification).

Disgusting tackle and I still cannot believe it wasn’t a send off. Told you the ref was crap!

On the basis of a red card Ledson would rarely finish a game.
Must admit though at the time I thought it a red.

Exactly why has RL not taken the last 4 weeks getting his tEam to shoot at Barn Doors - because none of them can hit one! PS Anyone got a Banjo, maybe Daws?

We've seen more of those punished with red rather than yellow cards. If Ledson is going in like that I'd say the same. Had it been Pearson who made that challenge, the ref would have produced the red card in a jiffy. Which he should have done as it would have prevented the melee that it incited.

I miss that phrase!

Huddersfield Town have been fined £6,000 and Preston North End a total of £5,750 by the Football Association following a first-half scuffle in their Championship game last month.
Both teams were deemed to have breached FA rule E20.1, after a flare-up following a challenge by Town's David Kasumu on Preston's Ryan Ledson.
Kasumu was booked for his role in the incident, before a melee began.
The clubs admitted failure of their players to conduct themselves properly.
Huddersfield won the match on 26 December after a late comeback

So minute in the scheme of things to be irrelevant to me.
