🎄 Boxing Day 2022 🎄 Introduction
Really hoping we can start the festive run of games with a home win V Huddersfield. Whilst our away form is fantastic and, if replicated at home, would gain automatic promotion, our home form is dismal. Luckily Huddersfield have the worst away form in the championship winning just one game up to now. What could possibly go wrong? Our current injury record is a mystery to me. Sat in the Brown Cow in Blackburn pre match, imagine my surprise to hear the team news. Bench fun of teenagers after a month on the sidelines. I feared the worst but I needn’t have because Blackburn were pitiful. Game was over before we called on the U19s. All great lads BTW. After the game, I’m thinking have we hit on a combo that will serve us well. DJ can express himself in front of a solid midfield and defence. Woodburn looks handy and can support the in form Evans. Then boom! we’re back at Deepdale and the same side look clueless v a competent QPR side. Meanwhile Rovers are two up at Norwich. Form guideThe terriers have picked up 4 points in the last 5 games to our 9. Bookies will fancy us but, to me, the key will be adding more experience to the bench when games are tight. I feel we've had the edge over Town since the pandemic but I've had some miserable experiences down at the Mac. Most painful was a 1-3 reversal boxing day 2015. M62 closed on the way home the locals chanted 'your rubbish and you can't get home'. Couldn't argue that day. My positive memory was a victory at Deepdale towards the end of a league one season in 2012 when Danny Mayor led the charge and was unplayable on that particular day. Wont be on for this one, submitted to family pressure to "entertain" on Boxing Day. Which means.... if I'm not there, it will be a cracking win for the whites!

Our dreams will be over for another season of we don't beat Huddersfield. Think we could sneak a draw.
Starting work at 3am on Boxing Day but hoping to make it to Crawley v Sutton, or should I get back home for my daughter's birthday lunch.

I was just about to say. Just rang in to buy tickets as taking my son-in-laws on (1 of whom is Spanish and bought me a Spain 🇪🇸 shirt for Christmas so firing straight back at him) and there were only 2 blocks in the Invincibles pavilion where we could get 3 seats together! I guess we're on for a 20k crowd as I expect Huddersfield to sell a lot. |

Really poor.
I know some supporters like fernandez but if the fancy footwork doesnt produce anything it means nothing. He cant defend , at all.

Have to say it. Manager must go. Never reacts to events on the pitch. Despite what the league might say this is the worst team for a year or two.

Utterly woeful, set up with 5 at the back and 2 defensive midfielders to a team anchored to the bottom who can’t buy a win 😫
Cunningham battered 2nd half should have gone to 442 and chuck big Bambo up front in place of Potts, Woodburn totally ineffective and should have done better with 1 on 1 with their keeper. Looked clueless and why oh why does he have to wait till last 15 to make a change, game already lost then

We are being conned at Deepdale by not one but two conmen. I have, and will continue to say we have one intention and that’s to stay up nothing else. So am I upset, bothered? The hope killed me years ago. RL is not the answer.

The intent was shocking. Slow paced build up play leading to wide balls hoofed hopelessly into the box. Hugely ineffective and zero entertainment.

Keeper jury out, Greg Cunningham God bless him it’s over Brad Potts Div one Ryan Ledson league one, just. Rills league 2 at best. Which leaves us with a 34 year old leading the line carrying 4 out of eleven and a manager who is Division One. Then throw Alan Browne (sadly) Sean Maguire earning a ridiculous salary and not speaking, and a con man managing and a con man running the ship. It’s not rocket science it is just stating the obvious to me.

That was truly abysmal they deserved to win simple as that that, slow, slow, slow build up, have they actually thought about having a pop at goal.
Evans played well, both goals in the comedy zone, especially the second keeper lets ball pass by him

Before posting I like to have a period of quiet reflection. I consider that this avoids any untoward knee-jerk reaction and a contemplative approach, whilst probably too conservative and restrained for many, this has the merit of achieving a more rational and objective appraisal. So here goes:
- what utter garbage
- what a joke of a manager

3 at the back clearly isn't working at home, so he continues to persist with it. Ok there isn't a rb, but there isn't a rwb for a wb system.
Subs needed making shortly after half time..when it was evident that Huddersfield were beginning to get hold of the game...again far too late.
And as for personnel;
Ledson...average? Really Sup. Maybe average in L2 but he's rank p poor in the Championship , spent most of the game watching it. Played one good ball all game, only time he threaded the ball on the deck as opposed to hitting waist high balls on the half turn.
Potts, Woodburn...not good enough.
The lack of any real pace in the side is alarming.

We now officially have the worst points per game record in the championship at home and the 2nd best away but we are 7th in the table does this tell us how close we are to being a good side in my opinion NO it tells me what a crap league it is and that our manager hasnt got a clue how to change the system from one that works away but is useless at home

Have been going to Deepdale since 1949 and enjoyed the good times and the bad. Particularly during the 1950s when Preston were rated one of the best. Sadly age coupled with the current sterile football means that this is coming to an end. Can’t be bothered forcing myself to trail down to the ground. Hope to exchange my season ticket for a junior one and give it to my grandson. |

I got my near 2 years old grandson a PNE kit for Christmas....screamed his head off when having the shirt put on him and tried to pull it off.

I'd be interested to see the Kasumu challenge again. As a referee even I felt it was a nailed on red card, let alone the fans around me on the Invincibles who witnessed it just in front of us. How it was only yellow surprised me.
However the sub who came on for him made them a lot more dangerous.
