Delap confirmed

Tempered optimism. At least Delap knows what the Championship is about. Cannon needs our patience. A role for CE to help them football-wise? RWB too much to ask??

Delap may not have set the world alight at Stoke, but 3 goals is a darn sight better than the 0-1 we get from most of our attackers in half a season.
We've now at the very least got some depth instead of relying on 17 year olds who aren't near ready. Cannon and Delap are both much much bigger and stronger.

weve now got 3 of the best under 21 strikers from last seasons reserve premier division, intresting to know if Cannon knew that Delap was coming in.. on the up side at least we have 4 options up front

I am really happy with the Delap signing. He does great on Football Manager. Let's hope he can repeat that for us. Don't know how we got him though, maybe not enough games played for City's liking. He'll get them with us. Good signing 👏

Interesting we are signing all these strikers but will Lowe actually allow us three front men on the pitch at the same time.

Deepdale digest saying Ched is injured Though they usually talk tosh Had a ‘tight muscle’ last weekend. All it needs is a scan to show a Grade 1 strain and they’ll not risk him for a few weeks. If he’s out for 10-14 days as should be if that’s all it is, it’s an opportunity for the new boys. If it’s Grade 2 (as seems unlikely), possibly looking at a month at his age.

I thought Delap was a big guy, asked mini Mooney to look it up, apparently he’s ‘only 1.85m, that’s 6cm shorter than I am’. Seems in this day and age 6’1’’ isn’t counted as being a ‘big lad’!

Delap would be good ….. Stoke get rid of his Dad and he leaves love it …. payback time for when Ferguson sacked here, daddy Alex withdrew his loan players and also got his mate, the dour Pulis, at Stoke to withdraw our loans ….. Oatcake Forum in uproar An Oatcake classi Another frankly embarrassing episode in a long list of frankly really embarrassing episodes in the last 6 years. There is not one single part of this club I like at the moment. Match Day experience - wank Manager - wank Coaches - wank Players - wank Support - wank (me included) Board - wankest of them all.

Decent business for once.......should have been done last summer not when it has come to the point of mass disillusion.

One more decent signing and we may yet be able to turn the mood. This is a v good signing in my opinion, don't know enough about Canon to comment. Keep the faith.....

Probably could have been done in the summer if we hadn’t been holding on for Archer.
Does make you wonder how much we have spent on loan deals this season, I’m guessing over a million-some would say it’s better spent on a permanent signing. But I suppose it depends where we finish.

Look for what it’s worth the merits of loans no sell on fee etc. These players will not be regulars in the PL (Rooney never went on loan) the thinking (deluded in my opinion) if we did go up both would be affordable and available if not they go back. We might not like that but that is the reality we had 3 outstanding loans last year we are a better, not a good side but you cannot deny our loaners enhanced us last year.

Hope Delap can throw a ball as far as his Dad could. Wont need Corners with two good Strikers - ah, but one would be taking the Throw-ins. Forgot. Most positive signs I have seen for ages. Can we get in the Play-offs? Someone should do a Poll, but I'm not tecchy

Dont want to prejudge and hope he turns out ok but I can assure you all that most Stoke fans are more upset at losing his dad than Leroy his dad Rory is a bit of a cult hero at Stoke mostly because of his throw ins as walburghian mentioned Leroy should fit in here though as his first touch can be poor - but he is a player who likes to have a shot which we definitely havent got I would class him in the "promising" bracket

Rooney never went on loan but Kane, Abraham, Mount, Tomori, Pickford, James, Walker did to name a few. The absolute elite Like Rooney, Foden and Bellingham may not have needed loans but most of the England side of recent years has spent time in the football league. I have my doubts too but they are what we've got and I've no doubts they are an upgrade on relying on Maguire, O Neil and Cross-Adair or playing Woodburn up front. Excited to see how they do.

Ched signed a new contract till end of summer 2024 Think he deserves it, although if he hadn’t had the bit of form over the last few weeks, i probably wouldn’t have offered him a deal-and we will probably regret it.

On here most identify that we need a right wingback. Would Toffolo on loan from Forest be an idea? He hardly gets any game time since his transfer from Huddersfield to Forest, not least because Forest play with a back 4 (so why they signed a right wingback is odd). He has a connection with the area as his mum's from Leyland (my wife's cousin).

He's had eight games at Forrest this season so he isn't a regular, don't know if he is making the bench week in and out. Might be happy with this picking up Prem Wages for keeping the bench wark

RL seems to be saying we dont need a RWB, though i think most fans would disagree. I watched the oxford V Arsenal game the other night and the Djavan Anderson lad at RB looked brilliant, only got 6 months on his current deal too.
