Boring to endure as we all agree …..
Best defence in the whole of the league, carp at home, win away 8th in the league 5 games till the enforced farce World Cup break (2 away games before at Lashers and Reading) after the break Plastics away on TV then West Brom away 29th December … limp through till the next window, get some decent acquisitions in and let it role …. ever the optimist

The standard was terrible but I’ve not really watched a stand out side all season to be honest. A win is a win. Great away support as always. Safe journey.

Great performance tonight, including the first half when we kept the home fans quiet. Incredibly we’re still there or there about.
Really pleased for Greg on his Nan’s 97th birthday. 😀
How a team can be top of the league after losing 7 out of 16 games (nearly 45%) I don’t know!

Thought the picked side looked far more energetic tonight but it was still crab football in the first half....tippy tappy from side to side. Not entirely surprising considering the lack of anyone even trying to run in behind defenders. Again Lowe baffled me...with Hughes at lcb, Storey at rcb and the smallest one, Cunningham in the middle (up against Rhodes). However I have to say that I thought Cunningham had a tremendous match...made him my MoM.
Second half much better with longer and more diagonal balls as a consequence of Fernandez and, partic., Potts pushing on.
Still same old limitations though...noticeable that McCann lacks physical strength, Fernandez can be easily knocked off the ball (missed a sitter as well that would have made it 2-0), Ledson gives the ball away too cheaply, Potts can show some great touches and then ruin it with a poor pass, etc
However 3 points against, admittedly, a poor Huddersfield side. (I was expecting the ref to blow for a foul following the goal...C's hands were in the back of their player although I couldn't say he pushed).
Car parking all I said it would be...30 mins to find anywhere, pay £5, and then held up getting out for 30 mins after the game until fans and coaches had gone.
Makes you wonder..is it worth it?
(As for the 'great support' I had the misfortune to sit near some not so youths who spent the entire game effing and blinding and gesturing to Huddersfield fans in an adjacebt stand...brain dead macaroons. What a contrast to the pleasure of fans mixing and the friendliness of the summers womens' Euros).

Just got back. Huddersfield are going down. They were really bad. We were just bad again but take the 3 points and run.

Tonight we were lucky when Huddersfield's Ward could've/should've changed the game right from the start. Happened other times this season too. RL should get us focused and executing from the off.
But afterwards, credit to the team for the application and the effort to keep them largely at arm's length without any real scares.
Imo looking ahead at the season, this was an important one to win.

Some interesting thoughts all round.
I was saying to the lad last night that Cunningham was a surprise at CH but his game is suited to that role I guess. He sees the ball a lot, and can pass well, he won’t have to do as much running there as at LCH, and his experience means he reads the game better than Diaby or Storey. He was excellent, my only concern is if we play a team of cloggers who have a big donkey up front (yes, I’ll get the match thread for Saturday done today) and would he get bullied? I suppose he’s got Evans to play against in training.
First 5 minutes of the second half we were very good indeed. As always, the subs came late, probably too late to take the pressure off and about 5 minutes before Woodman went off it was clear his race was run. He did well first part of the second half and I also thought Brady and Riis did ok. 3 points. All that matters.

Well done to all that went. Great result with performance ok. We moan about RL and performances but consider HTFC they were awful as were Bristol City. I’m going to lay off Lowe, give him a full season (pretty sure we will survive) and go from there. He needs a few out and a few in during the next window and let’s see what that brings. Let’s hope we have a good day at the seaside and let’s not go OTT if it goes t*** up , it’s one game in a long season

About time we scored a corner, we’ve had a few near missed. But surprised at the same time because we lump it to the back post everytime. Poor by Huddersfield.
Onto the next one. 💪

Our best play in the game led to the free kick which Fernandez took, quick and incisive shows we can do it. Picture split second later we score
