Sunderland have a young , enthusiastic Squad and appear to be able to challenge for Promotion. In August 2022, Sunderland announced they had signed 18 yr old Jewison Bennette to a 4-year deal. He made his debut for his new club on September 14, replacing Corry Evans as a substitute against Reading. In his second match for Sunderland against Watford, he scored his first goal. Tony Mowbray admits he may have to ease Jewison Bennette back into the action after the Costa Rican international was halfway across the globe on international duty. The new Sunderland forward has had quite the fortnight, scoring a late equaliser against Watford and then notching a brace against South Korea as his side continues their preparation for the Qatar World Cup. The Sunderland boss is hoping to take advantage of Bennette's recent highs and utilise the youngster to full effect, while also balancing out fatigue from traveling. Mowbray handed his players some time off to recoup and recover following a hectic start to the Championship campaign. This is going to be a tough game for North End and it will be interesting to see how Bailey Wright performs against his former Team. Having Drawn 2-2 with Watford and won 3-0 vs Reading, this team is in good form and Mowbray believes that their youth and capability gives the Club a lot to look forward to. I am not hopeful about this Match & can see us not scoring and losing 2-0. |

Looking forward to this one. Meeting one of my closest friends near Hartlepool for dinner, so always good to catch up with an old friend. Not going to be easy but I’ve got a gut feeling that for once the break will have done us good.

I’ll have what Mooney, is on please... That would be ace A pint of positivity! I’m a 2%er and a huge part of this is based around choosing to be hopeful rather than choosing to be negative. Doesn’t change the outcomes but means the days are spent focusing on best case scenarios rather than doom and gloom. Works for most things! Try reading ‘The Art of Being Brilliant’ by Andy Cope and Andy Whittaker. Certainly helps me with work, life and running! |

Get some pace up the top end and means Potts and Brady can play more as wide midfielders instead of out an out wing backs.
Will need to be well drilled out of possession, covering for Whiteman stepping that extra few yards into midfield and not having that screening player. Maybe Ledson could come in for McCann for freshness.

My first away day for years. (promised my grandson an away day for his birthday). We are on Coach One tomorrow,. Would be good to say hello to any Pebblers..Look out for a baldie in a red top and a small 12 year old with black-rimmed glasses. We are supposedly in block 32 ,row 16 seats 71 and 72...but I'll believe that when we are there !!

Fancy a sneaky win but then remember the Mowbray destruction of us in April, hand on heart only game I have ever left early 😫
Recall beating The Black Cats 3 times in 1 season 1 0 each time home, away and FA Cup game
Got friends in Sunderland very bitter about the AN departure
40,000 fans a game only something we can dream of
Need RL to finally get a formation together that can win games, hope the ‘You don’t know what your doing’ chant v Shef U has hit home he now needs to start putting his money where his mouth is
Fly to Tenerife at 4.30 pm ….never wished for a delayed flight before ( only 30 mins please) 🤣

So most of us believe that we will starting with RL's usual formation. However, should we have 2 up front, I Believe so, which means that the middle 3 are? I go for Whiteman /McCann /Browne because I don't think he will leave Browne out. Thoughts?

Not much in the game but think we have been the better team.
It's so quiet there for a 40,000+ crowd. It was all North End fans for the first 15 minutes and then nothing really.
No idea how this one could go but wouldnt surprise for one team to win it 2-0. Hopefully not another 0-0 although an away draw is a good result.

* Clean sheet but Sunderland dominated midfield battles contributing to another lacklustre display from our strikers
* Loanees-Fernandez can look exciting but is still young and raw. Fans must not have inflated expectations.
-Parrott added little when introduced. In fact looked switched-off. Noticeable that the person with the fatherly arm round him
before coming on was DJ.
*Was on Deepdale Coach 1. The whole travel experience was excellent..well organised, in a low key way
* Am double booked on Wednesday evening. In the past have left my meeting in Kendal early and rushed down the M6. This week I'm staying put. I'm so bored with the on-pitch PNE experience and not sure how it can change in the immediate future.
(No problem Mooney.. came across the article in yesterday's paper)

We have four senior “strikers”, non of which appear capable of hitting a cows rear end with a banjo. Parrott has had a go, Riis has had a go and Evans has had a go. You have to cling on to the hope that maybe Maguire is the one that has been kissed by the goal fairie or shook hands with the chief leprechaun ☘️ and someone defender will try to clear the ball and it will hit him in the face whilst he is lying on the ground after one of his famous fall over routines and trickle into the goal, I hope that they will start scoring soon or it will be a long hard season. Just a thought though, maybe it isn’t just the strikers we should be looking at? |

Very very average performance, not sure all the blame for not scoring lies with the strikers……others are not creating the chances.
I am not sure RL knows his best 11 or how to set them up. 1 point is ok up there, but this is going to be a long season !

On paper the four goals conceded in eleven games looks promotion form on the other hand the three goals scored and only three points above the relegation spots looks definite relegation how long do we give him

Its the midfield that is the problem.
Sat way too deep and when we go forward they are scared to go past the half way line.
Id try potts behind a front two.... Cant be any worse than what we have. At least he'd hold the ball up.
