McCanns great at breaking up play and nicking the ball in good positions. Take him off and we can’t get out of our own half. Stupid decision to sub him, again.
McGuires hold up play is his best attribute. Maybe he’ll be a better player now we get bodies forward. Him and Parrot up top, two irish lads up top will be on the same wavelength.

CR7 putting two on a plate for Cardiff aswell. The bit of quality we needed and we wont’t roll the dice every once in a while. 😴 His mate DJ possibly told him he wouldn’t be here much longer so Robbo decided he may as well learn a bit of Welsh instead? Wouldn’t miss DJ, spends most the time wingeing at the ref. Doesn’t deserve a new contract judging his form from the last 18 months. Ivan Tony in the England squad, remember when we scoffed at paying £5 mil for a league one player. Another example of inept ownership. That 5 mil would be worth 40 million now. Don’t they understand how it works. |

Problem is, our record when we spend on promising youngsters is they turn out to be duds! For every Toney, there’s a Harrop, Bayliss etc. We used to get it right, relatively small outlay for top clubs cast offs, but nowadays these lads are on huge salaries. Apparently that Toisin lad was on 30k before he’d even played a professional game! Makes it hard. Low league punts are exactly that. Beavon, Stockley, Burke, Doyle, Stevie May. When was our last successful lower league punt? Nuge? Gregan? Could say Whiteman, but he was really already established. |
