Luton Town v PNE Saturday 13th August KO 3pm Kenilworth Road Capacity: 10,073 (all seated) Address: 1 Maple Road, Luton, LU4 8AW In January 2019 the club received planning permission to build a new 17,500 capacity stadium (with an option to increase to 22,500 at a later date), at a site known as Power Court, which is located near to Luton Railway Station. Known as The Hatters due to Luton's historical connection with the hat making trade, which has been prominent there since the 17th century Luton played their home games at Dallow Road immediately after their formation but moved to a ground on Dunstable Road for 18 years and, in 1905, came the move to Kenilworth. In 1985, (PNE followed in 1986) the grass pitch was dug up and replaced with an artificial playing surface until the summer of 1991, as the surfaces were banned from English football. Main Rivals – Watford with just a short stretch of M1 between them the Beds-Herts derby is spicy and for the last three or four decades the animosity really flared up as the clubs met in the higher divisions Away fans are housed on one side of the Oak Road Stand (on the Executive Stand side) at one end of the ground. Around 1,000 fans can be accommodated in this area. This covered all-seated stand is shared with home supporters with an area of tarpaulin, keeping the fans apart. The entrance to the Oak Stand must be one of the most unusual in the country. After going down a rather small alleyway at the side of the stadium (or down the cordoned off Oak Road), the impression is of queuing to go into someone’s house and then through their back garden and into the stand! Manager -Nathan Jones is in his second spell as Luton Manager. He is a devout Christian who credits his faith with getting him through bad times. He has several religious tattoos on his body including praying hands and the crucifixion on his left biceps and forearm, Jesus Christ on his right biceps, and Michaelangelo's 'The Creation of Adam' across his back. Jones is bilingual, able to speak both English and Spanish Luton, like us, have 2 consecutive draws in the league so far but changed their entire 11 on Tuesday night and were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Newport 2-3 Never an easy place to visit and we need to be on it after the 4 0 thrashing we got there last season RL will have to give some serious thought to his team selection after some good individual performances in the 4 1 thrashing of Huddersfield. Ali McCann now leading scorer and was fed perfectly from the impressive Alvarez, will Ethan Laird be also in the ranks? Hopefully Parrot hitting the target will give him confidence and just need Riis to start hitting the net again. The midfield quandary continues:- Browne, DJ, Whiteman, McCann, Ledson Referee: Dan Whitestone – last season he was main Official in 3 of our games, all PNE wins, including the reverse fixture at Deepdale last October when we were 2 0 winners with Riis getting both Fans Forum: members.boardhost.com/lutonoutlaws/ 35 degrees forecast – hot, hot, hot Would love a win to break the drawfest but, as long as we keep unbeaten run going, will be happy with a point, not a nice place to go 1 - 1

It will be interesting to see RLs team choice after Tuesday's result will he keep Ali McCann in & if so for who (Browne would be my choice) is Alvaro fit should Woodburn replace Riis to play behind Troy should Ledson get a start in place of say Whiteman will Bauer get the nod ahead of Lindsey I think the only guaranteed starters are Woodman Storey Hughes DJ Potts and Troy still going to predict a draw but much improved performance COYW

After the Udders win i can see RL sticking with that formation against a bogey side.
i can also see him playing Mccann in the middle and despite Pott's decent outing i can see Browne at RWB.
FW JS Lindsay Hughes Browne, McCann Whitman Brady DJ Woodburn Riis
lots of options available to RL though..

Come to think of it I've got all bases covered The optimist in me says PNE win The pessimist in me says defeat The realist says draw Boom got the result right somewhere

Riis replacing Troy as a lone striker, by all accounts the game changed for the worse on Tuesday night when that change was made as the ball just would not stick. Sounded like ledson and Whiteman complemented each other quite well in the pivot roles. If we were to stick with the formation I would go Woodman Storey Lindsay Hughes Ledson Whiteman Browne McCann Brady Fernandez Parrott

Thanks Gina, great read. I'm being realistic for once and think that we shall lose to a good Luton Team & Manager. As I am usually wrong, this may be good news for North End. PLayed 2 without conceding in the League. Dominating Carabao Cup vs Huddersfield should mean that we are going to win. Hope so but not confident. Forecast 2-1 to Luton in the Pebble League. Happy to be proved wrong.

Thanks for that PNE From Afar, not seen the highlights or aware of the programme. Most exciting performance from PNE in a long time and the Utd LWB linked up well with McCann. Bth looked like regular starters and Potts was a different player. Play like that tomorrow and we'll beat Luton.

Last time we won at Luton, Moyes was our gaffer! Bogey ground and can’t see this changing today.

Really difficult place to go especially since Jones took back over so will actually be happy if we can scramble a draw no real stars just excellent team work

Cracking 3 points against a decent side and a real battling performance. Back 3 look solid. Potts is everwhere! Oh, swansea won at some carpy seaside town....

Not the prettiest game I’ve ever seen but a good team battling performance. Defense looks very solid, 3 clean sheets in 3 games with Woodman barely having anything to do. I thought McCann was ineffective and despite many clambering for him to play it affected the football we play negatively as a spectacle but can’t argue with 3 points!!
