Watford just four points better off than us despite a squad probably costing 10 times more than ours. Genuine question, would north end fans prefer the Watford model of sacking a manager every year when we feel we are underachieving?Seems to work for them. Would prefer a model where we sacked the Chairman every year. š Is that what happens to you on your footyman games Walb?!

AN will probably get promoted with Stoke.
Finally managed to get Dwight Gayle after about 3 failed attempts here. That extra budget makes all the difference.

Done a quick tot up, 9 points Iām predicting between now and the end of the season. Which would put us on 59, about 11-12 points short of the play offs. 5 points less than last season.
What do we reckon pebblers?

Outside the transfer window and romping to promotion. No impact on them whatsoever. Being thick here but surely this is a meaningless threat as no transfers can be made till next season Get them some points deducted!!! Must be related to the Idiot from Plastics who couldnāt even get their transfers through on last day of transfer window after having 30+ days to sort ⦠East Lancs Numpties certainly showing their true colours

Couldn't help notice that for Burnley Nathan Tella scores a hattrick tonight to fire them to probable promotion, this puts him on around 20 for the season.
Down on the south coast Southampton are losing at home again, can't score for toffee and are on course to swap places with Burnley.
Nathan Tella is on loan from Southampton. Such is life I suppose!

For those wondering whatās happening at Burnley, I would encourage people to look on Companies House website and have a look at the companies owned by the chairman⦠something fishy is afoot. The local media donāt want to go near this but there is a story in here somewhere. From what I have been told, the Chairmanās other business interests are in a very weak position. Donāt know the fine details but when I was told, I was shocked and for Burnleyās sake, hope thereās an error.

Unless there's a miracle you can put your money on Burnley coming straight back down next season. The leveraged buy-out means that money coming into the club is going to have to be used to pay for the borrowing , even worse, depending on the position taken by the owners, used to prop up other businesses.
When the owners took over the club had £37m reserves...this has gone in addition £65m was borrowed and has to be repaid within a short period of time.
Whilst the club will collect over £100m off the Prem there's no way that it can repay the debt and meet a Prem wage bill...it stood at £86m when relegated. Whilst parachute money has been sued to sustain some of this it appears that the club may well have been borrowing again. No wonder transfer embargo imposed..they can't pay any transfer fee.
Could even have the situation of club going up and still having to offload players....potentially that bad.
Salutary lesson for those that think PNE should go the same way....I know many will turn around and say that they will get a season in the Prem but in the longer run it is looking bleak.
Be interesting to see if Kompany sticks it out.

dawsonsjs, Have you looked into AP and his companies? All have 'Accounts Overdue' next to them and at least 1 has ceased trading...I suspect he hasn't got the proverbial pot to urinate in and he is hoping to recoup this through Burnley FC. Sad thing is, I have numerous friends who are Burnley supporters and they are blinded to this due to the relative success on the pitch.

I havn't looked at the company accounts but will do so when I get time (be next week).
I think the position of most supporters (inc PNE) is one of never looking beyond League performances.
Clouds (creditors|) are certainly gathering.

My neighbour and his clan are all Burnley fans, ST holders. They think all is hunky dory at the Turf. I'll print this off, shove it through their letter box and ruin their weekend! They deserve it after the drubbing they gave PNE!!

So Sheffield Utd have now missed paying debts to other clubs for player purchases (Rhian Brewster being one - is that from 4 or 5 years ago?) Burnley not filing accounts Huddersfield and Reading facing points deductions, along with Wigan. Not sure if Iāve missed any!!
The whole championship is in a financial mess!!

The finances should have been sorted properly years ago. All needs a reset in the EFL. Wage caps. The Premier League is becoming a different animal. Itās only a matter of time before before billions are pumped into MU possibly with a rebuild of OT. Even the European leagues fear its growth. Burnley on the playing side would have survived but they will be hamstrung by finances. They are a local rival but I do admire what has been achieved on the playing side. Feel VC would have created a ābrandā of football with whatever playing staff he had at his disposal.

Iām no expert by any means but Iām struggling to make any sense of the premiership now. Iām seeing clubs spend more in a season than they could possibly bring in, even assuming that they win the premiership, champions league and FA cup! Itās absolutely nonsensical! Clubs seem to be either toys for the oil countries or owned by hedge funds!!

Does make you think why should I spend my money following my team when clubs just break all the rules without any consequences. Just makes a mockery of the whole pyramid.

Choice of Loan players would improve though - providing PR wasn't still picking them.
