Feel we should have gone all out to bring Schumacher with him. According to an interview he did there was a package in place to bring him but he felt the time was right to be the main man when it was offered. |

Got to laugh, just seen this statement on Plastics website …. we think our lot are bad but they couldn’t get their act together on deadline day and missed out on 2 new players O’Brien from Forest being one of them. Imagine the uproar on here:-
The club would like to update our supporters on the situation concerning trying to bring in two players prior to the 11pm transfer deadline on Tuesday January 31st.
One of the deals was a very ambitious target and it was only confirmed that he was able to join us late Tuesday afternoon.
Due to the complex nature of the various agreements to be included within the overall registration, legal advisors were brought in to assist in part of the process.
Despite the club’s best endeavours to complete all the required elements of this loan transfer, due to events we believe to be outside of our control, the deadline for submission was late and despite the club stating the mitigating reasons for the delayed submission, our application has today been rejected by the EFL.
Our application for the second deal – for the permanent transfer of a promising young player – was also delayed due to unsigned paperwork and technical issues encountered by the club at the point of submission.
Once again the EFL has not accepted these issues were an impediment to the paperwork being lodged on time and has also rejected this application.
The club will now appeal the EFL decision to reject both applications and will submit documents ahead of the Tuesday

Rovers failed bid of 8 million for O’Brien raises questions about Fair Play rules. The club is reputed to be up to its ears in debt (over 100 million to the owners) but continues to spend like a drunken sailor. Can anyone explain how they get away with it?

Losses are assessed over three seasons for FFP. The assessment of each club's finances is a combination of a historic assessment (looking at figures for the two previous completed season) and an assessment over the season currently taking place....owner investment is ltd to a max of £13m in a season. As long as they keep within this they are alright.
The problem they have is that whilst most of the huge debt (who knows how much , ?circa £150m) is owe3d to the owners who can't be charging interest (club could not pay it) a fair sized chunk has also been borrowed from commercial banks. Sp far the banks have not pulled the plug...must know club can't repay and if they chased the money they stand to lose everything if the club goes into admin.
Owners are taking a huge gamble spending so much.
The day of reckoning will come.

It’s pathetic when you think they’ve only had 774 hours to sort signings out and they’re appealing it for being late. That goes for every club tbh, why does every club wait until the last day?
