Risdale just saying it how it is. Harrop needs to be paid up and shipped out asap if he’s holding up getting anyone in.
It was always going to be hard replacing the three loans. We’ve only played 1 game, plenty of time to gel yet.
Ridsdale may have been telling the truth but he probably didn’t need to say it?
Don’t know how paying Harrop up will save money, may as well just pay him monthly till next July as pay him up in one lump sum?
The only way we will save any money on Harrop is if he decides himself that he will leave and even then it would be to a lower league team and we would still have to subsidise his wages to some extent?
We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR.
Think you save paying NI and pension contributions. Probably not much in the grand scheme of things. No point in keeping him around now. Look at Earl, he got himself straight early doors. Full pre-season at his new club. Harrops just a big dosser for me.
Risdales dammed if he says the truth and dammed if he sugar coats the situation. Honesty is the best policy for me. He’s probably sick of Lowe chirping to the media that he wants more players.

Assume it would likely be Brook Norton-Cuffy if true. Absolute unit. Powerful, quick and can take people on.
Impressed in half a season at Lincoln last season by all accounts and is an England youth International. Having him and Fernandez on either side makes us a completely different prospect to last season.
Anyone else noticed the lack of anything from the club this week
The silence is deafening, when Pete announced one out one in it killed the recent up beat feelings that went with the cheap season tickets and the optimism of a smaller but better quality squad.
It is highly debatable if the squad is better or worse from last season and it doesn’t take a genius to work out where the team needs strengthening, but hey ho! We have a couple of weeks left yet.
How can anyone claim the squad is stronger. We have not replaced Sep or CA both fringe Prem players. We have two weeks to do something about it, but highly unlikely any incomings will be the same quality unless we sell DJ or AB and invest the proceeds in a rwb and cf. in a perfect world we should get rid of CE and SM as well .
We spent last season with Earl and Cunningham as lwb’s, surely even you have to agree Brady and Alveres are upgrades? Archer did amazingly for us last season but Parrott has much better credentials and could end up being better than Archer. He’s also here for a full season! Woodman has better distribution than Iverson, he’s won the golden gloves in this division and played premiership football.
I get that all 3 loans ended up being great last season but prior to them arriving we knew very little of them and many wrote them off before they arrived.
Personally I’m looking at this season’s squad with 2/3 weeks still left of the window and I’m thinking it’s already stronger.. (last season I would have happily swapped Sepp for a left WB) and I’m expecting a rwb and a striker..
I’m not saying top 4 but looking at RL last season picking up enough points to finish 8th I’m feeling pretty optimistic

I will reserve judgement until the window closes. With two weeks to go I agree we are stronger at lwb and that’s it. TP better than CA, really, I do not think so. No replacement for Sep. We have got rid of 19 players replaced them with 6 and cannot afford anymore without some more going. and the manager thinks we ‘spoilt for choice’ upfront according to LEP. I am trying to stay positive but scratching around for the rationale. Irrespective of who we sign the rubbish we here from RL is a bit of an insult.
Have you watched Parrott a lot then Nextie. Maybe we should give him half a season and see if he puts the ball in the net as often as Archer, admittedly he has a lot to live up to.
We need someone to put the ball on the back of the net. Parrot did not play badly today, however he has had 2 one on ones with gk in two games and has missed both. Look at his goal scoring record in Div 1 last year, not impressive. Those missed chances have cost us 4 points already. It has taken us three years to realise that we cannot afford to play a forward who does not score aka SM and now we have another one. You get what you pay for and we will not pay what it takes to get a proven goal scorer in. RL spouting on about no negatives all positives . 2 games no goals, how is that not a negative!!

Talk on twitter of Ethan Laird coming in on loan from United. Was supposed to be joining Watford... Either way will be happy with either him or Norton-Cuffy as they are both likely huge upgrades on Potts. Laird a little bit older and has played well at this level before.
Laird only played 6 games last season but seems highly rated... 6 games at this level though.
NC 17 games for Lincoln and won euros u19 with England.
I've seen NC play but haven't seen Laird
NC looked good when I watched them against stanley last season..... watched stanley against Charlton first game of the season and Stockley played looking distinctly league one average at best
Played 20 games for Swansea 1st half of last season before being sent to Bournemouth for the second half and played just 6 games. Also played 24 games the season before for MK dons in league one, guessing he made that move in January as well. So Laird has 50 games in the past 18 months ranging from league one and champ against NCs 17 in league one.
I’d be happy with either but Laird had a lot more experience to be relied on from the off. Maybe location and likelihood of game time will put us ahead in the race for Laird. Was linked with Watford but I believe they have 1 or 2 other RWBs and maybe Utd/Laird don’t want another situation where he doesn’t play regularly. Not sure if injuries limited his game time at Bournemouth.

"To dictate the pace and course of a game, a player has to be blessed with awesome qualities. Those who have accomplished it on a regular basis can be counted on the fingers of one hand – Pelé, Maradona, Best, Di Stefano, and Tom Finney"
