Decent win.
A little disappointed with how we set out though. We re such a better team when we press and attack at pace. I don’t think it suits us passing around the back especially as Blackpool weren’t exactly brilliant. My only slight criticism though!!!
On a different note, I hope their gk is ok.

Just thinking, sad to see their Goallie go off but they've a much better No 2 than us I think I’m better than our number 2! I know I am used to play GK for a Ladies team 🤣

Take the result of course and enjoyed the atmosphere but the lack of quality is a concern. Still creating few chances even when RL's first choice midfield available.

UTW DTTB ,Fantastic win in the end could've had two more when Whiteman inexplicable shot past post . Got to admit went to bed and overslept for 9.45 ko woke up 10 .15 here in Saudi BUT got cricfree for sky on just in time 43mins Archer arrowing one in corner No drink but had a nice smoke my arab colleague came to the villa ! Dawson has good points but apparently first 30 odd mins we bossed it hit bar etc What I saw second half reminded me of Derby away giving ball away and missed tackles basic stuff imho. Archers brilliant goal quality . I think Ched wouldve made a difference if fit knocked the lashers back four around with his inimitable style . Alls well that ends well , Now lets go for it for rest of season, nowt to lose and catch Boro and Rovers .

At the end of a day Nelson this was just another match and apart from local pride the outcome was never going to amount to much for both teams. The bigger picture is where we go from here. We are not playing any better football than we did under AN and even FM (indeed recent away performances have been shocking) and we are simply not creating and scoring anything like enough goals. I havn't looked at the League table recently but we must be one of the lowest scoring sides in the division.
And it's not hard to see why. I've zero criticism of the work rate last night, far from it, but at the front we had Archer and Riis most of the night so far apart from each other they were isolated...one time they combined we scored. Despite playing with 2 wbs I can recall just one single decent wide ball into the box. Browne and Whiteman sat too deep to create anything which left DJ who did his best but was often surrounded by tangerine shirts.
Apart from looking more organised and some improvement in the work rate I have yet to see any sustained significant imporovement under Lowe....perhaps not surprising seeing as he has the same players. I think we face a difficult summer ....club doing the right thing offloading so many but I suspect that given the intent to offload the club there won't be much in the kitty for bringing in quality.....but the one position above all I would like to see filled is leade. Could certainly have done with one on the pitch last night in the second half.

I have to agree with Dawson thought that we, yet again we were slow in our build up Rils was ineffectual for me the two lads up front were isolated. I did think that Brown put a shift in Wiseman Mom Johnson worked hard and Mc Cann has got to be unfortunate not to stay in the team. I will say this however we have collectively known we are bang average (they were no better) we need some quality however the commitment and work rte is there its a start, but only a start let us see what the summer brings.

I was impressed by Blackpool, they’re more drilled than we was. Especially off the ball. You can see why they’ve picked up some good results. But never created any clear chances. Our back 5 where immense.
But, first win at Deepdale since 1999! Can you believe it? Doesn’t come around often, so let’s enjoy it.

Cant judge a team based on a Derby game, too much riding on it to play expansive pretty football. Interesting listening to Rudd after the game, who admitted what we have all assumed that RL "sets up to defend for the 1st 30 mins and then came into the game"..
As for judging RL and the team- we still have a squad set up for 4231 formation and until we get some balance in our WB's the system will never look spectacular (although Potts has been great imo) this was also the demise of FM..
with so much money coming off the wage bill this summer, even if we re-invest 60% on decent options i feel we will be much better next season..
imo the spine is pretty solid..
the back 3 even with Storey or Bambo is good top 8 championship, Lindsay, Earl both decent back up. the midfield 3 are top 8 championship too with Ledo and McCann good options.
if RL can bring in a couple of good WB's keep Archer and bring in a better Ched i feel there's no reason not to have a top 5-8 push next year.. lots of teams will be under deductions i feel too.
Last night was no great spectacle but the players were up for it..

Nice to get one over on Blackpool, but they did play more flowing football and looked to go forward. PNE seemed to sit on the 1-0 and hope for another break. Daws post this morning is spot on, Where do we go from here?
I have my doubts about Lowe, however, you could not help but appreciate his emotions at the end, he looked like a true white! His ins and outs in the summer will be interesting!

Yes, but he analyses the far end of every fart and then says it’s just another game!! Ollocks, this is and always will be more than just a game. He needs to understand that the performance wasn’t important, the result was. He’ll be saying that the Sheffield Derby is bigger next 🤬

Fair comment that px6 re both sest of fans....thought both were good last night.
Mind you given the number of Police about you'd have thought the Russians were coming.
I liked the two new flags!

The Blackpool fans needed a ST and 8 away tickets to be eligible for this fixture so likely to be a decent bunch of supporters. Not the away day pi$$ pots. NE have a similar away following - a very decent hard core of 3k or so - sometimes supplemented on ‘gentry day’ by a rum bunch. I was embarrassed at WBA but proud at Fulham. Barnsley should see a decent turnout in every sense of the word.
On last nights attendance, we had enough home support to fill Gloomfield entirely even though it was on sky. That said 18740 suggests Deepdale was at 80% capacity and it looked more.

Not happy about missing out due to ESPN in the US taking the game.
Was feeling down on iFollow... But replying to my email today, the Club Secretary, Ben Rhodes, tells me the percentage to the club has risen from 80 per cent during COVID to closer to 90 now after production costs
IMO good to know that (in the times of excessive service charges) our club benefits to a good degree from our long distance support.
Hope this info is helpful to others thinking about signing up for PNE iFollow.
