If being a better fan is about how much you spend , let me throw another spanner into the works. Hows about the "better fan is the one that chucks what they can afford into the pot. Myself and the lad try to go on as many games as we can afford , this isnt many by the way. Someone who earns £100000 per year and spends £400 on a season ticket or maybe add a junior ticket so £650 per year or me that earns alot lot less but maybe spends £400 per year , Whos the better fan!!! Personally dont think you can judge people on what they spend or how many games they see , i wanted to watch Bournemouth and went to the ticket office . I even asked for a deal on Blackpool/Bournemouth combo, the club said no so i bought one match instead of two lad was disappointed and so was i to let him down but dont judge me cause i didnt put and extra £25 into the kitty Perfect post. You could have stopped after the first 2 sentences as that says it all really

But who is maintaining any such relationship (between how much put in and being a 'better' fan?). Nobody as far as I can see. It's about the value of practically supporting the club...and the distinction with those who do so in name only...ultimately reflecting on the size of the gates. And I take it further saying a club with such support is going nowhere.
PW you make a fair point regarding the average gate as a % of the local population....on this basis the club does alright but the corresponding conclusion is that Preston is not big enough to support a Prem club. Indeed , apart from Burnley who got there before current financial payments, there hasn't been a club get to the Prem with Preston's population since I don't know when.
The only positive note is that Preston is not the club's catchment area.....I like the Dep of Employment's Travel to Work Area as a catchment definition, and in 2011 this was over 400,000 people, although many outlying areas are in competition with other clubs.
This leads me to saying that the potential for significant growth is there ..and that as a % of this population current gates are crap. The football being played under Lowe deserves much better support.

Imagine if the club had said yes to me and 30 other Dads and lads , maybe only 300 pounds but 60 extra voices cheering the team on

No one on here, is on here because PNE are not in our hearts, just because we don’t/can’t attend games doesn’t make us any less of a fan. Family priorities must come first
I don’t attend many away games anymore … so what
I am fortunate, I can afford a season ticket and will try and book my holidays around away games/International breaks BUT even that backfires sometimes …. I always go to Tenerife for Paddy’s Day, cut it short to get back for Sat 19th March so I can watch us stuff Lashers …. game postponed SO holiday extended till 22nd March BUT hey-ho tickets booked for Les Mis in Manchester Tuesday 5th April, now sold on ….. The Life of a PNE fan 🤣🤣

I actually feel the club has done enough this season with ticket offers and more so with fan engagement. The buzz isn’t all about RL, although he’s the biggest reason, the media side has improved massively and little things like the fanzone have helped. PR is more prominent and it was interesting to see the vote on twitter asking if people would want him to remain in a role if the prospective new owner came in, the yes vote was over 75% when I looked.
