Evening all, someone off here invited us to post on your forum, and you've lured me in with those videos of GT. First of all I see someone in this thread say we are similar clubs. Laughable stuff. I've just looked and you've got league and Cup wins galore. Our achievements are a second place finish in the first division 40 years ago, choking on the last day of the season to finish runners up in the second division, and two Cup final defeats, most recently a world record hammering. That's it. So no, we are not comparable clubs. Secondly, I went to university in the NW and have visited Tokyo Joe's on numerous occasions, so I have fond memories of your town and accommodating females. As for the match, if Deeney and/or Gray start, you will dominate the match and likely win, or we'll get an undeserved draw or narrow win, and you will be fuming at the unjustice of it all (many teams have felt this way after playing us this season). Our league position is a travesty. We have been second best in almost every match this season, and that is no exaggeration. If neither of those shytbags play though, our entire system will be different and, free of the confines of that hateful pair, or players will play with freedom and belief we will win handsomely. If none of Deeney, gray AND Chalobah play then you will be on the end of a frightful beating. Unfortunately our manager is an utter simpleton with zero tactical nouse and barely any managerial experience whatsoever. He happened upon the winning formula v Bristol City purely by chance (deeney was injured) and it is inevitable he will revert to type. Our last manager was a dour terd but our hapless owners saw fit to replace him with this grinning buffoon. It really is beyond belief how we have messed up what should have been a straightforward promotion and seen us win the biggest trophy in the entire history of our club. The second division title. But to us it would be massive. Prediction: deeney up top and a 0-0 draw that you'll dominate. This forum will be full of posts the next day about how can a team so recently in the Premier league and who managed to hang on to Sarr be so dreadful. (You'll think sarr is hugely overrated too). In an alternative dimension: we play 4-3-3 with Pedro up top, goslin CM with deeney, gray and cholabah sat in the bin. 5 nil us. Difference between humour and smut Micky...this site needs more new members and I am sure they all very welcome but the day that it descends into accepting the level of postings that litter other footy forums will be the day a lot of posters decide they don't want to be bothered any more. I think the moderators here do a good job without unnecessary interventions having to be made. Sup made a very good succinct observation, let's just take it from there.
As for tonight's match I have no idea as to the outcome...could go any way. Should be interesting though and considering the changes that Watford will make (in the middle of 3 matches in 6 days) we have got to be in with some sort of shout. I very much would like to see Sinclair feature with Evans.

There are females on this forum well one Gina so I thought it not appropriate well one comment. I am no prude lets leave it there we certainly do need more posters mind. Any chance of a recruitment drive? Or did we have some badges made once? I am happy to pay for a set if someone knows how to get them anyhow just a thought?

Thanks for the invites on the Hornets Nest PP. The manager was John Goodall who ended up playing in France prior to the Great War which saw Preston lose many of it's young men like the rest of the country and was noted for the Preston Pals decimated at the Somme. You have the memorial at Deepdale commemorating many of the former players who died.
Goodall ended up living in Watford and was buried in an unmarked grave. Only recently was a headstone erected by the club and draped with the colours.
As for the match best of luck. Quite a few in's and outs for Preston with those coming in already making an impression. Would have liked us to sign Whiteman but we think funds are quite low as with many clubs in the pyramid to make such a purchase.
I hope we stick with the same formation and players as against Brizzle. They were poor and hit by injuries but we also played very well and moved the ball at speed and off it as well. Deeney contrary to much of the press this season is on a steep downhill curve in terms of mobility and Gray cannot hit the proverbial barn door which has caused great consternation among Hornets fans.
If we are to secure promotion automatically we need to turn round the away form by scoring more goals and from our point of view we hope that starts tonight. We have been incredibly negative away from home this season with Ivic who seemed to enjoy winning one nil and we really have not shown that much improvement under Munoz as we were wedded to a 4-4-2 with Deeney. As mentioned I hope we stick to the 4-3-3 played on Saturday.

During lockdown i inherited a box of family history , in the back of one of the files was a receipt for a grave which hadnt been visited for 40 years plus . After a bit of research ive found it in Preston cemetery and marked it . The grave contains my Great Grandmother and 3 others. |
