Preston North End V Watford Deepdale Stadium Tuesday 16th February 2021 KO 7.00 pm A view from the bunkerIt’s been a tough period for North End but the last two performances have lifted spirits and we are looking up the table rather than down. The away win at Rovers on Friday night and the first half performance in particular provided a real filip going into the weekend. The performances of Greg and Liam Lindsay caught the eye and both found themselves into the EFL championship team of the week. Our new additions have caught the eye and it’s so great to have Greg back. Ched Evans is bossing the front line, Iverson for me is an upgrade, Whiteman looks solid defensively and can find a pass. Going forward I think we’ll be more solid defensively but I don’t think we’re settled on our best attacking options just yet. With Evans, Riis, Sinclair, Gordon and Barkhuizen we should be competitive in the final third ably supported by Johnson, Potts and Moulumby. Hasn’t quite clicked yet but I hope we can end the season building up a head of steam rather than running out of it. If I was predicting now I’d say a top 10 finish with 60+ points. Looking forward to the game, North End are 7 points from the top 6 and Watford are 7 points from top spot so both sides need the points. Watford have yielded 8 points from their last 5 games just one point more than North End. Despite their 6-0 demolition of Bristol City, their top scorers Troy Deeney and Ismaila Sarr have 7 goals each, one less than Scott Sinclair. Watford are strong defensively, only Manchester City and Swansea have conceded fewer goals in the top four divisions. It’s set up for a low scoring affair but who knows it’s the championship during a pandemic. Good luck to all in white. Their shirt is a shocker. Stattos1. We haven’t lost at home to Watford since 1979 the year I started high school. 2. There hasn’t been an away win in this fixture since 2005 when north end won 1-2 at Vicarage Road. 3. North End are winless in three at Deepdale. 4. Watford have drawn 0-0 in their last two away games and it’s never happened three times so here’s hoping. 5. Last 13 games v Watford at Deepdale have yielded 8 wins and 5 draws for north end. Possible line ups:Preston North End possible starting lineup (unchanged): Iversen; Storey, Lindsay, Hughes; Browne, Ledson, Whiteman, Cunningham; Johnson; Barkhuizen, Evans Maguire is injured but not for the long term unlike Rudd, Bauer and Moult. Gordon will be monitored after a minor injury and a late decision will be made on his inclusion. Watford predicted starting lineup: Bachmann; Femenia, Troost-Ekong, Sierralta, Masina; Cleverley, Hughes, Chalobah; Sarr, Pedro, Sema 433 formation for Watford. Will PNE match them up or stick with wing backs and three CBs? Phantom Winger, Cheers PW. Another great thread but an awful kit of Watford’s! This is the kind of game I kind of feel positive about. Think they will come to play and when teams do that, we often end up spanking them.

The hornets nest is a decent read. Overall balanced with the odd grim up north comment. Similar size club to ourselves.

Can’t see us getting much out of this. Would take a draw now.
1-1.

We have a chance here. They are inconsistent. Perhaps a bang down to earth for them after what has to.be seem as the best result this season. Anyone wins 6 0 at this level , its an achievement. My heart says possibly draw but my head says a Watford win.

Got a real yearn to be sat in the stand @ Deepdale tomorrow night, can’t beat a midweek game under the lights for atmosphere. Should be a good game, just hoping Watford have scored their quota of goals on Saturday and leave their shooting boots at home They don’t travel well, we don’t play well at home. .... narrow home win for me 🙏🙏 Phantom Winger , Mooney , ProudPreston29 , px6 , Mickypne , Please note 7pm KO would hate anyone to tune in at 7.45 pm and miss the first half On Sky red button

Evening all, someone off here invited us to post on your forum, and you've lured me in with those videos of GT.
First of all I see someone in this thread say we are similar clubs. Laughable stuff. I've just looked and you've got league and Cup wins galore. Our achievements are a second place finish in the first division 40 years ago, choking on the last day of the season to finish runners up in the second division, and two Cup final defeats, most recently a world record hammering. That's it.
So no, we are not comparable clubs.
Secondly, I went to university in the NW and have visited Tokyo Joe's on numerous occasions, so I have fond memories of your town and accommodating females.
As for the match, if Deeney and/or Gray start, you will dominate the match and likely win, or we'll get an undeserved draw or narrow win, and you will be fuming at the unjustice of it all (many teams have felt this way after playing us this season). Our league position is a travesty. We have been second best in almost every match this season, and that is no exaggeration.
If neither of those shytbags play though, our entire system will be different and, free of the confines of that hateful pair, or players will play with freedom and belief we will win handsomely.
If none of Deeney, gray AND Chalobah play then you will be on the end of a frightful beating.
Unfortunately our manager is an utter simpleton with zero tactical nouse and barely any managerial experience whatsoever. He happened upon the winning formula v Bristol City purely by chance (deeney was injured) and it is inevitable he will revert to type.
Our last manager was a dour terd but our hapless owners saw fit to replace him with this grinning buffoon. It really is beyond belief how we have messed up what should have been a straightforward promotion and seen us win the biggest trophy in the entire history of our club. The second division title. But to us it would be massive.
Prediction: deeney up top and a 0-0 draw that you'll dominate. This forum will be full of posts the next day about how can a team so recently in the Premier league and who managed to hang on to Sarr be so dreadful. (You'll think sarr is hugely overrated too).
In an alternative dimension: we play 4-3-3 with Pedro up top, goslin CM with deeney, gray and cholabah sat in the bin. 5 nil us.

Sounds like you’re a Luton fan in disguise 😂 I’d take a draw now, I may be wrong but my feeling is that you possibly had expectations to go straight back up automatically and forgot how tough this league is, hence the critical view of your team/manager. Any team can beat any team but from what I’ve seen this season I think you’ll finish 2nd.

Not going into details but they flew up private jet two coaches hotel security guards own chef the full monty money simply not an issue. That's what we are up against tomorrow but as we all know footy ain't won in a hotel.I would go mental for the first twenty (Brave Heart) and see if the Italians and Spanish fancy it on a cold night in Preston. If we don't we will get spanked.

Our home form is 3rd bottom in league and our away form is 3rd top. Why?
