I know it’s ifs and buts .. but it shows how close this division is, if we had beaten Rotherham as we deserved and Tom B had not been wrongly sent off v Stoke we would be a point off Bournemouth 😉

If we’d drawn half of them loses we’d be in the play offs!

Been impressed with Ched so far, it is so nice to have a natural CF playing as a a CF, first proper one we have had since Joe. Got to admit I loved it last night when he was fouled, Ref ignored it and then a few moments later he absolutely clattered into the Ref knocking him to the floor, cracking challenge

One swallow does not make a Summer but it was great to beat Rovers. Glad that AN finally decided to play 3 at the back. He'll need to do it again vs Watford, having put 6 past Brizzle today. Happy to see the players all put a shift in, which begs the question why they didn't at Deepdale.

As mooney pointed out last week , they are inconsistent . Its a team made up with quite a few flair foreigners and our in your face style at a cold Deepdale might just go for us . We also now have the perfect left back to cope with that sarr

Can I just say thank you to Mickypne for his first match thread? Not just writing it, but also checking in and contributing so much and responding to other posters. Thanks Micky. Top man. Got another newbie next weekend with nelson stepping up. The more people who can do this for us, the better. Aren’t weekends ace when we win?

To be fair I contribute to thread at weekend a great deal anyway, whether its positive or negative 🤣. The games against Sheffield wed and Rotherham really brought the worse from me . Massively felt dejected as its been 12 month of watching paint dry. Last night was what I want to see with a bit more quality . However , I'm not going to get carried away. Let's see how the next 5 pan out.

Well said Micky too much dross too many bad decisions too many bad selections. I like him AN and he is young very young. If he learns from his mistakes and improves, and I count the riddler and the owner in this, as a club and a team we might see sustained progress. Let's see where we are in the next 5 games.

Neil outfoxed Mowbray in the first half by lining up in that formation and it won us the game really.
Ched Evans was outstanding again. AN and PR put their necks on the line bringing him in but he is a huge upgrade on Stockley and is a strong, team orientated centre forward who Riis can learn from.
Lindsay had a good game. Obviously lacks a bit of pace but in that role in the centre of a back 3 with protection either side of him he will win everything in the air.
No surprise that we looked more solid with Browne back in on the right and Rafferty back on the bench. Absolutely vital that AB stays fit until the end of the season.
Match definitely save before half-time by Iversen, one that Rudd wouldn't have got close to. Iversen is on another level.

Match definitely save before half-time by Iversen, one that Rudd wouldn't have got close to. Iversen is on another level. It really pains me to say this but I have to agree about iverson/rudd. My first thought as soon as he made that save was would rudd have got that? I'm a big rudd fan, always thought he was excellent when on loan then we got him on a perm. He had his bad spell and I knew he'd come out of it because you don't go rubbish over night. Most players have bad spells. I looked at that save and thought if rudd was in the net , that's a goal. The save was very much Schmeichel esque. The plan for pne was to bring iverson in next season anyway so I think we will see the lad next season.we only got him now because of Dec injury. I honestly think if he's here next season, Dec will be on the bench. I can't see us affording to buy iverson permanently tbh, 5 year contract? However he is down the list at Leicester, it might end up being what the player wants. 3rd or 4th choice there , or 1st choice a league lower. Either way, he's looks class to me.

Before the game I heard on radio or Tv that rovers got beat by a back 3 in the 2 games they lost before our game. So we did our home work on them and it worked

I know this isn't balckburn related but I want to put it here because I feel posters won't bother on another thread .
Pne must really be a club that looks after their players . We hardly ever here an ex player say anything negative about our great club. Ex players like callus Robinson and Jordan hugill still tweet about us andnits always positive. Players give interviews and say how they had great times at Preston, most notably Beckham. So it caught my eye when I saw this by a Liverpool born and bread, huge Liverpool fan tweeted this. I know he carried the coffin but it also epitomises how well thought of our proud club is by professionals. Pne certainly put some of the proud un Preston.

nelson,More than happy to admit that I didnt see Whitemans contribution as you did do I believe in AN as you do no I see a manager and assistants who most of the time are clueless especially when it comes to team selections set up and substitutions but will be the first to apologise if he ever proves me wrong by the way i,m sure I saw most of the chances created in the second half as one on one from the long ball are you saying Sinclair cant manage that situation

He clearly knew what he was doing on Friday and did his homework. However i will agree with the subs. I honestly feel if riis and potts had have come on 10 minutes earlier when Blackburn were dominating, we'd have got the 3rd goal. Neil allowed us to take pressure by not changing it sooner enough, had dack been onside , this theory would be justified. All of a sudden we then make them changes and we were unlucky not to get a third. I think clueless is harsh IMHO.

Add the likes of Graeme Atkinson to that as well. Still works at the club. PNE is a true family club and the fact that players know that the supporters value their efforts always has an impact. Many players have had their best times at Deepdale, Welshy being the start of this conversation for example.
I’m quite proud of the fact that so many of our ex players still rock up to games, do commentary etc. We’re doing something right. 👍

Tommy Spur is on the commentary sometimes and he gets well in it. Cheers goals ect. and he barely played for us!
The 3-1 at sheff w last season he was loving it and he came through the ranks there.
