Considering we just don't look good and it seems Blackburn do, we ares till literally sat not far behind them which indicates how bizarre this league is. This type of game is a game to be give fans some sort of belief again after a better performance against Rotherham. However, rovers will take their chances and for me, our defence is weak so I think there will definitely be goals. A little bit on our opponents.:- Thats all the interest i have on them as a club. Sorry about that. Who to watch. (Rovers) ADAM ARMSTRONG Loves a goal and at rovers he's starting to show his early career promise. Has now become a regularly goal scorer and I feel he will score Saturday night. Who to watch (pne) SCOTT SINCLAIR Leaving him on the bench against Rotherham was suicide from Neil. The lad us the only bit of prem quality we have. Chances that were missed , you feel he would have scored. He is a big game player and just maybe Alex had this in mind, plus as someone pointed out to me at weekend after during my breakdown, the amount of games they are playing at the moment, they need rotation. If pne get a chance on Friday and it falls to Scott, I feel we will score . DID YOU KNOW? Blackurn's record League win was a 9-0 thrashing of Middlesbrough in November 1954 in a Division Two fixture at Ewood Park The team’s badge includes the Red Rose of Lancaster, the year of the team’s founding (1875) and the Latin motto Arte et Labore (correctly translated as by skill and by labour’), which was adopted as the motto of the town of Blackburn in 1852 and appears on the town coat of arms The all time record goalscorer for Blackburn was Simon Garner, who scored 194 goals between 1978 and 1992 Alan Shearer (when at Blackburn) holds the record for the most goals scored in a 38-game season and a 42-game season. He scored 31 goals in 38 games in 1995/6, and 34 goals in 42 games in 1994/5. The oldest player to appear for Rovers was Bob Crompton – at 40 yrs and 150 days against Bradford, in Division 1, on 23 February 1920.(was this you daws 😝 ;-p) Overall , I want nothing but a win. Beating Rotherham then losing to rovers would have been acceptable imo. Therefore I feel nothing but a win will do. However, are we capable of beating the silly cluckers??? Yes we are, will we? Its a no for me. I'll go for 2 0 rovers with Armstrong and Gallagher to score. Come on whites, restore some pride and belief.

Mickypne, A Derby day victory would be great. Considering how much better they are than us... what would the gap be between us in points if we won?

I just can’t see our defence coping with their attack so I’m concerned for this game. As much as I want to see an attack of Sinclair, Gordon & DJ, I don’t think this is the game for this. I would go similar to what Daws said with the option of chucking attackers on for the last 20 minutes/half hour.
Iversen
Browne SvB Lindsay Cunningham
Whiteman
Ledson Molumby
Potts Sinclair/Gordon
Evans
I just think this is the type of game for Potts and his pressing. The back line is a worry with the lack of understanding back there.

I don’t know if I am the only one but I am really looking forward to this one, a chance to redeem ourselves from the embarrassing performance in November and hopefully a good opportunity to kick on for the rest of the season. Saturday was much improved to what we have become used to although the result wasnt great.
Team for me would be 3-5-2
Iverson
Hunts, VDB, Lindsay Browne Cunningham Molumby Whiteman Potts Evans, Sinclair
Hopefully Browne at RWB will be fit as Rafferty is struggling. Mindful of the fact Rovers set up 4-3-3 so would play 3 CB’s. Hunts and Lindsay either side of VDB. VDB’s mobility will be important against Armstrong. Hopefully Cunningham at LWB will be fit and ready to play. Molumby and Whiteman must start after Saturday, both excellent and won’t allow the Rovers lads a minutes peace which I think will be important. I get the feeling we will need to be patient and disciplined so Ledson is out for me (far too rash at times) and replaced by Potts who has the legs to carry the ball on the break and has a goal in him. I don’t rate Potts out wide, no creativity (looks like a fish out of water there) so would be interested to see him in by his own admission in his favoured position. Evans was excellent on Saturday so deserves to start, he will give the Rovers defenders a headache. Sinclair is the best finisher at the club for me and his movement off the ball is very good so I would start him alongside Evans.
Barks, Riis and Gordon will give us options for change from the bench as legs tire.
If we go at this one with the same tempo and endeavour as Saturday we have every chance of getting a result.

I can see us putting in one of those typical north end performances.
2-1 north end.

Only issue potentially for me is runners from midfield such as Rothwell, have we enough in that CM to give him a damn good kicking like he deserves? 🤣

Let Molumby and Whiteman deal with them, both fierce competitors from what I’ve seen so far. 👍

I thought we played well. Even though I hate AN, credit where it’s due. Maybe you should go back and read again mate 👍🤦♂️ Most weekends I am quite negative towards AN and some very poor performances however this was not one of them. Anyway, regardless of being negative towards AN (with good reason at times) since when has it been a crime to look forward to watching my team play. 🤦♂️

Good news is I think Holtby is out for a few weeks, he ran the game at our place. Downside, they may give Dack a start. They may look at us without Person and think let’s give him a spell in behind our front 3.
Midfield 3 of Rothwell, Travis and Dack with Nyambe and Elliot doubling up on Cunningham, not something I want to see. Bell played instead of Douglas (possible injury) on Saturday, with the physical presence of Brereton or Gallagher doubling up on Browne, also something I don’t fancy watching. I do think that midfield battle could be interesting though and if we can win that and not allow space in behind for Armstrong then we may have a chance.
I don’t think Hunts or Lindsay are the type of defenders to pull out to the channels to help out at their wing back and they certainly don’t have the turn of pace when that goes wrong to get back in position and that risks VdB being isolated with Armstrong.

I think Douglas had a baby at the weekend which may account for his absence. My Rovers mate doesn’t rate Bell one bit so hopefully he plays on Friday. I can’t see in anyway Browne or Cunningham being isolated 2 vs 1 leaving 3 CB’s looking after Armstrong, that makes zero sense.🤷♂️ Whether they look like the type or not if the instruction is to take a man a piece of the 3 attackers then that is what is required. I agree the midfield battle will be a good one. 👍

If we.lose Friday, come Saturday pm we could be 5 points above relegation zone depending on the results of the teams down there. Then we have Watford at home and then Cardiff. Friday is a very important game .

I hope we’ve had a good week of organisation on the training field. Second half with five subs chucked in is keystone cops football. A solid 11 for an hour would be good.
Iverson Browne Hunts Lindsey Cunningham Ledson Whiteman Sinclair Johnson Barky Evans
If we want more going forward Molumby for Ledson. Would like to see Whiteman play live to see his full movement on the pitch. Not a game for experimentation for me. Chuck Gordon on after an hour go spice it up maybe.

So its not on Ifollow, so we all need to go out to the pub, have a few beers, watch North End beat Rovers 0-2 and go for a curry after the game.
People used to do this..... apparently!
