Neil chose that side today, he chose i side that have never played together before against a big strong Wycombe side. I know they're bottom but they're still no mugs, they've got draws at some good places this season and historically they've done well in the fa Cup. Them players today were pathetic, but Neil picked them and left maguire and browne and the bench. Took walker from Carlisle to leave to take him to Wycombe and not even give him 10 mins but gave stockley 90? That peed me off tbh. It’s an easy out for a manager who shows little desire to do well in the FA cup. Can we just opt out of the FA cup next season to save this pantomime. 🤷♂️ Players need a run of games in order to hit their stride, they need to be played to their strengths in the correct positions, AN sets some players up to fail IMO. Ok I do agree there are a few that are league 1 standard but even so today was a terrible performance. Now the board are starting bring new players in and being pro active (by our standards) it’s going to be even harder to shift the blame from AN although I bet people will still try. 🤷♂️ Maguire being the biggest culprit. Hes a decent player being sold out every week by Neil. Right wing one week, week after lone striker with long ball service. I really feel for maguire .

AN is not going anywhere until he is good and ready, TH would have to pay up his contract if he wants to sack him, that is not going to happen .

Not sure how AN is to blame? He gets the blame for not picking certain players. Picks those players and they play rubbish. Who’s at fault there???

So at what point is it acceptable to question AN and place some kind of responsibility for poor performances and results on Him. As much as some believe the AN subject is becoming a “witch hunt” (even though he has been praised for getting results lately albeit without good performances) he seems to be a protected species on this forum. I agree with Nextie that TH will not pay up AN’s contract so unfortunately (for me) we are stuck with him. Other than Bayliss and Possibly Riis I am not entirely sure any of the rest of today’s starting line up people have been calling AN for not starting. I may be wrong. 🤷♂️ There are plenty of other issues with today’s performance and this season that AN should be held accountable for tbf but unlike the witch hunt TH receives, AN seems to have an easy ride on this forum. 👍

It seems from his comments AN picked that team to fail if he new that they were not good enough the easy way to prove your point is deliberately pick them all together believe me you could have put any one player you like from the premier league in that side today and they would have looked rubbish I dislike the useless bloke even more now it shows what he is really like

I think it's quite refreshing a manager calls out his players for poor performances. Is it only morth end that played fringe players today in a competition they have no chance of winning?

We’ve just come off a 3 win streak with 3 clean sheets. Who’s fault was that? The players or the manager? People need to be abit more level headed when we lose a game. And it was an FA cup game.

And Ripley, stockly, Storey, raffers, Earl plus the two you’ve mentioned aren’t regulars. That’s 7 players, plus Molumby first game. Them lot have hardly played with each other.

It was the FA cup, he fielded players that are 2nd string, Wycombe didn't, we lost If you find that acceptable then fair enough. 👍 others see it as a poor show and rightly so. It’s almost as though people aren’t allowed to expect better than losing 4-1 to Wycombe. 🤷♂️🙈

28th May 1994 Wycombe broke our hearts at Wembley, scored 4 that day too ..... they stuffed us today, we were never gonna win the FA Cup, put the embarrassment behind and move on

Earl was way off it the previous game. Did AN have to start him and start the first choice LB at CB when we had a CB sat on the bench? 🤷♂️ Young lad, confidence low, good idea to start him again. Who knows.

We shouldn't send any team out not aiming to win the game. AN is at fault, he signed them and he picked them. If they are not good enough that's his fault for signing them.

I don’t blame Neil for making changes in the cup because most managers do but he really couldn’t care less about it at all could he?
We might as well have not charged entry for the Doncaster and Norwich 3rd round ties in the last 2 seasons because we had no intention of winning them. Today felt the same from the off. 3-0 down very quickly.
That said some of these ‘Championship’ footballers really need to take a look at themselves. If you can’t do the basics you shouldn’t be at a Championship club.

What a shambles of a club. Was there ever such an embarrasing week?
- recruitment that is only likely to offend many people, esp. women, and commercial sponsors, never mind being good enough from a footballing perspective - a manager who picks a team to lose, and then blames the players after an abysmal performance against the side propping up the Champ
How can you say 'move on?' The club has thrown away a great deal of goodwill and potential revenue.
This is going to carry on as long as the same people are at the club...it's the third year in a row that Neil has thrown a 3rd round FA Cup tie....a complete disgrace. If we were challenging for a play off place he may have a case...but with the defenders the club is saddled with there's no prospect whatsoever of this happening. Look at Ainsworth...bottom of the division but he still shows a determination to do well in the Cup and put out his best side. Well done Gareth Ainsworth.....you make look like Lilly Savage's cousin but you've outsmarted Neil yet again even if a Subbutteo team would have stuffed that North End team yesterday.
For how much longer do we have to put with Neil's mismanagement and drivel?
Ainsworth: "I'm really proud of the performance today, some of the boys who haven't been playing came in and showed me what they can do so it's a team selection headache for the next game and that's what I want as manager."
Neil: "The simple fact is we gave opportunities to players who haven't been playing of late, and people ask why they haven't been playing, and I think it was quite clear today. They shouldn't have any complaints if they're not in the team for a long time
For how much longer do we have to put up with Ridsdale's mismanagement of the club, no player development, poor recruitment, unaffordable wage bill with contracts handed out to players who should not be there (and whom the club can not get rid of)?
For how much longer do we have to put uo with sub-standard recruitment practices?
What's the point in bringing in younger players (some for signiifcant fees) if you do not runa an U23 side giving them the opportunity to play regularly and develop, so you end up with the shambles we saw yesterday?
What size gates would we be getting if fans were allowed in?..9,000 at the top my guess, and a lot of those only because they are ST holders.

Yes....over 60 years a supporter and I still care about performances, results and the club's well-being, although why I should care when a manager doesn't give a toss over the FA Cup is another matter.
How on earth can the club ever generate sufficent support to move on given the people running the place? Why should |I continue to bother?
Neil needs some of my passion for the club because I don't think he has any.

dawsonsjs, we all agree that Earl had a stinker but can you explain why you say he was at fault with the 3rd goal. If you’re having a go at someone at least have the decency to be factual about things. He desperately needs coaching if he’s to continue his career at left back as he struggles against pace and skill. There are ways to defend against pace and the coaching staff need to have a look at themselves as they see him each day in training and don’t seem to be doing anything about his deficiencies. It’s not an excuse and doesn’t change the fact that it was rank bad defending, but in my opinion it was never a penalty as Earl didn’t commit a foul when inside the box I think there’s a very good footballer in there and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him playing in the centre of defence long term.

Earl was out fought out played and out muscled but he was not alone. We lose and will continue to do so, because we have no strength and pace in midfield no one that can hold the ball up a non league defence and a manager who is tactically inept.Something has to change.

There was even a question if we should start hunts or storey a few weeks ago. I think that’s been put to bed now. Baylis too, (including me) but can’t see him making the grade, especially if Whiteman is coming in. Harrop a another one people clamoured for despite having numerous chances and not taking any of them. Loan to league one and get some games in league one and see if there’s a player. Wouldn’t surprise me if he’s part of the Whiteman deal.

I too can see Harrop being involved in any potential Whiteman deal as AN clearly has no time for him and refuses to give him a run of games. Strange that we gave him a new contract recently really. I could see Harrop going onto the likes of Doncaster and doing really well once given a fair chance.
