A striker is a must for me, like I said earlier, to replace the dross You can have prime Alan Shearer up there but if the service is naff and he’s feeding of scraps he will be next to useless. 🤷♂️ That doesn’t mean I don’t agree that we need better strikers, Maguire for all his effort and endeavour he’s not the answer. Riis is an unknown but has shown glimpses of promise, Stockley and Moult for me are both not good enough, good lads but sadly not the required standard. For the time being I’d like to see a Maguire/Riis or Sinclair/Riis combo up top and maybe invest in somebody who can feed them.

Or on the other hand, you could have debruyne and Fernandes supplying balls all day long and they still wouldn't hit a barn door 🙈

Both areas of the team need improving but I would start with the supply. We bought Riis, we’ve left him isolated, created very little for him to feed off and people are very quick to write him off and offer taxi rides out of here. 🤷♂️ A Mcgeady type in our team feeding the likes of Riis would hugely improve him and us.

We are a very average side punching 🥊

Thats the big problem, we rarely sign players who will automatically go into the first 11 Ched Evans? I hope we could do better and I also don’t think we create enough clear cut chances to warrant another frontman especially when we only play one up top I agree with Dawson here Maybe thats why I liked his post and commented on it in agreement, the bold strikeout was supposed to be a bold underline

To get back to the Thread!, we have a Transfers Thread - no-one has yet commented upon the incredible decision of AN to start the game with Barky at LW, presumably to counter the threat of Knockaert. Total waste in the 1st half and sorted in the 2nd, when he moved back to his proper position - but why put him there in the 1st place? Again, one of Ans weaknesses, more concerned with the threat of the Opposition thatn our threat to them.
