This is an ongoing issue with PNE. Can AN please train his players to stop taking the easy option by passing back to the Goallie from the Halfway line. A little deception /turn etc could give them time to move the ball forwards instead of putting them on the Attack because the Goallie has to find an outlet. It is not Rocket science. Peripheral vision is not properly looked at in Football.

Feel slightly here for Coventry. Like money says , they did well 1st half but find themselves 2 down . Luck really is with us tonight so I'll take that.

Question, is Hughes better as a left-sided CH. My opinion is yes . He is good in the air and can move the ball. Don't think he is good enough as LB/LWB. Happy with 3 at the back tonight.

This pitch doesn't help imo. Its terrible.
Not making excuses but both sides struggling to play on it.

Three points..what more can you say? Browne and Gally not just poor but very poor...improved with them off. Earl's defensive weakness exposed.
I'd take Hamer and Dabo any day.
Credit to Coventry for the football they played....truth be told they gave us the two goals with sloppy defending but they have certainly got some decent players even if they have no strikers.

Good professional second half. Slight tweak to system made a difference and we controlled the midfield.
Potts excellent, MOTM Maguire and Barky showing what a good football brain he has once moved to LWB.

We got control of the midfield in the second half only because Browne and Gallagher went off and Robbins took O'Hare off. Coventry's game not only dropped after conceding the second they brought on the big front man and went longer when they were not trying to get Dabo away down the right. In other words the midfield was surrendered! At no time could it be said that we comfortably controlled the game.

I think the result flatters us.
Coventry 58% possession v 42%, 10 shots on goal v 7, and 8 corners v 3.
As I said pre-match we are building momentum..and I note that yet again we have not conceded with Hunts in the team.
I'm not lkidding myuself though about the quality thouigh...albeit given the number of games it's probably unrealistic to expect more.
