Just seen these highlights, thanks PNE From Afar, some poor Defending there as Daws noted in another thread. We have a tendency to ball-watch and Swansea's goal was a similar one. Good job we had Rudd yesterday.
It's more than 'now and again ' Afar...personally I'd have snatched Bournemouth's hand off if £5m could have been got....and the money put towards a striker. Although as the money wouldn't go that way we are better off keeping Davies. He is capable of much better performances than we have seen on too many occasions this calendar year. I wonder if it's to do with changes around him, going out to cover fbs etc. but he gets caught on the wrong side of his man too often for a top class cb. Don't get me wrong...when on song I think he is a very good player indeed for us but Prem standard? I have reservations, put it like that, and I'm not surprised that Prem clubs are not queueing up for him.
The best defences pick themselves...doesn't matter if it's Arsenal or PNE...when you look back at sides conceding the least goals they have consistently had the same line up. The problem we have is at fb, Fisher is headstrong and Hughes not good enough. Rafferty is a rb but has been playing lb. It's bound to affect the players in the middle, means more crosses are coming in and there's a need to cover the fbs. So maybe it is a bit unfair criticising Davies bec that's not where the problem stems from.

I appreciate your input Daws but you have obviously come from the Harold Wilson school. Sit on the fence, look both ways and say nothing. You say both sides to the argument so that you can always say you had a different opinion. Not good enough. Most of us on here know where you come from. I accept and appreciate that you are a North End supporter. Also, I recognise that you go to a lot of Away matches that I do not go to. Fair does. However, you swing both ways, so that when it goes the way other way yiy can say "I said differently". We all have opinions and we are not always right, but you are never wrong because somewhere you have said the opposite. Harold Wilson, you're main man. I prefersomeone to be definite
