Not a lot for me to say...
Anything you hear, see on social media or even suggestions of players we may wish to buy...or sell, pop them in.
Who goes? Who stays? Who signs a new deal?

Here’s one to start. Browne to sign a new deal and stay. Same for DJ and Harrop.

Happy with Gally staying as long as it’s not big wages.

We need to make room for the younger guys to to play sadly, the squad is to big and midfield overloaded. If they could offer him a coaching job and keep his registration for emergencies that would be OK. Pity we are not starting an U-23’s.

I've heard we are interested in Rob Dickie, Oxford centre back. But they want good money.
Also head the club are resigned to losing Davies and Pearson in the next few weeks.

Heard good reports about that lad at Oxford if we could get him in to replace Davies. As I’ve said on another post, I’d be happy with Ryan Woods and Barry Douglas. Not a clue for a striker who we could realistically afford and improve us.
On the departure side, we all expect Davies and Pearson to go and I wouldn’t be overly concerned if Browne went as well. I know he had fitness issues after lockdown but I wonder if there is more to the little game time fisher has had recently?

Not a clue for a striker who we could realistically afford and improve us. On the departure side, we all expect Davies and Pearson to go and I wouldn’t be overly concerned if Browne went as well. I know he had fitness issues after lockdown but I wonder if there is more to the little game time fisher has had recently? Rafu been excellent... for me that’s all it is. Woods is an excellent footballer and has always played well against us. I think those of us who were there against Shrews in the cup a few years back all noticed him then. I have in my head accepted that we will lose BD and BP this summer and wish them both every success. We need to tie down 2 players who have one year left in my view, Harrop and DJ. I have always defended DJ from the accusations of laziness over the years. I think he’s a class act. Potts is a better ‘running 10’ than Browne as well I think but Browne I would also try to keep and give a new deal to. Form is temporary. So... keeper. Rudd is as good as any at this level. Hudson to be 2 next year, get Ripley off the books if we can. He’s one of our higher earners believe it or not, so finding a club may be a challenge. Happy with that. Defence. Lose Davies. Play Storey... need back up and someone to push them, as Hunts won’t (black boot legend) Right back, fine. Left back. Earl... otherwise we need a new one. Midfield... Ledson plays every game when fit for me now. As does DJ which leaves us with Harrop, Potts and Browne competing for the third place. Potts can also play on the right of the front three... Front three. Controversial view here. Time to upgrade Barks. Sorry. Love the guy, his energy and effort is second to none. His touch lets him down too often and it has cost us points. Will not be easy to replace his work rate and pace in our market however. I just wish Potts had his pace! Maguire needs a rest. He’s better than many think. Sinclair I think will do well. So... what am I looking for? Move on fringe players who have no future. I can’t see Bodin making it for us, for example. Some youngsters involved. Ledson and Storey playing every week will make them better players. I want to see O Reilly and Walker in and around the squad. If Ginnelly is up to it, him too. A new striker. Now I am one who sticks up for Moult as a CF I think he could score 15 a season... but fitness is a worry. I like Stockley but he’s not mobile enough to do the role expected by AN. In a 442 he’d be great...Sinclair alongside him? Where can we find the perfect striker for our system? Won’t happen sadly but the answer lies in West Ham.

What's point on a new thread. Just merge it with the other one. I'm now checking 2.

Looks like this transfer window will end 31st October. Presume it will start around mid August. When the champions league ends.
Next season to start September, so 2 months of playing with the transfer window being open. Could lead to panic buys.

Too high profile for us. He wouldn’t go somewhere other than a premier league club or a top 6 championship budget.

I believe the rumour of contract renewal but not sold on the Ben Davies part. Says important cog but I’d be very surprised if it was either Ben. I’d be made up if it was though.

Yeah I saw this and that is the danger of social media, only takes one joke of a tweet for the rumour to spread. I believe what jimmy off from the Finney has said about a contract for an important contract but like Micky says I can imagine it being somebody like DJ or Fisher. Could be wrong and the lad could be telling the truth but I don’t see why he would be holding up a shirt for signing a contract. Thats usually the old sat in the boardroom with pen in hand!

Nigel Pearson as boss? My near neighbour, know to talk to. Been there for as long as I can remember (20/30 years) but there is currently a 'For Sale' sign up at the bottom of the drive....as you may well imagine the house is very set back and there is another one off the drive so not sure which house the sign is for. Would I have as the manager? Depends what you want. Football wise highly competent but maybe there are other reasons as to why he is not sticking anywhere? ------- So PNE 'resigned' to losing Pearson and Davies?
I think the reality is that the club is delighted to be receiving the money, especially if it has been negotiated before the full Covid impact.
Am I bovered?
No. What troubles me is where the money will go. -----
As for next season's team. I wish we would play 3 at the back:
Rudd...when he was getting knocked on this site I posted what a good keeper he is for this division.
Bauer Storey Earl
Barkhuizen DJ Ledson Potts ?
? Sinclair
Barkhuizen drive me mad. Saw him skin the best rb in the divison at Craven Cottage earlier in the season, caused them all sorts of problems. But he has a touch like a dog..and he can't pass a ball.
Browne? Been awful this year. Loss of form or what?
Rafferty has come on no end but I'd keep for when playing 4 at the back.
Harrop? Great technical ability but needs to beef up.
Stockley? Like the man but he's not a Champ standard goalscorer, just hasn't got the pace or the movement.
---
We need: Striker Left winger (because Sinclair is better doen the middle).
A captain.. a hard case bloody minded leader on the pitch.

If Ben Davies signs, I will be delighted. I think Bauer is captain material and my back 3 would be Storey, Bauer and Davies if he signs. Rafferty has done enough to get a place and I believe he could play RWB as could Hughes although I appreciate his limitations. Earl could play there also. DJ, Ledson and Browne will probably feature. Put Barky down the middle with Sinclair or drop one for the big man Stockley. I am assuming Pearson will go and I don't see Nuge as an option.

Moore Wigan to QPR 2 million. Think we got that one wrong signing Stockley instead.
Maybe that means Hugil will be available? Wishful thinking.

Moore Wigan to QPR 2 million. Think we got that one wrong signing Stockley instead. Maybe that means Hugil will be available? Wishful thinking. Hugill absolutely is available... West Ham don’t want him, he doesn’t want to be there and he’ll be available for sale... but nobody will stump up cash plus wages in the current climate, so another season long loan to a Championship club is most likely. I have been told before that AN wanted to bring him back last summer, and that JH wanted to come here. However, WHU want as big a contribution to his reported £35k pw wages as possible which pretty much rules us out. Shame as I also have been told Hugill would jump at the chance of coming back.
