I’ve been doing some number crunching on our chance of the play offs. It’s looking like it’s going to be a high points total for 6th spot. Around 77+ plus. We’d have to average 2.06 pts a game. Which is asking a lot!
To put that in perspective, Norwich have averaged 1.9pts. It’s a big ask!
Indeed. Last 7 games = 12 points? Big ask indeed.
For me success this year is a top 10 finish given our start.
It's always next year isn't it?

My Big Hope, MyPrayer that we actually see our best boys together before the Vultures leap ...... Imagine Pearlo, Browne, Davies, Storey, Maguire, Robinson all together in one team with the likes of Bodin, Harrop and the very well cultured and motivated Stockley etc we will have one immense team. All hungry boys eager to ply their trade with no Big Billy B*llocks super star who needs the limelight ..... Trev, please, just dig deep and give them all a sweetener. .....playing football every week instead of playing in an Under 23 team or being loaned out to a team to make numbers up is not a paticularly nice option ..... Be a Hero where you are than a nobody elsewhere ...

We could do with a cheeky unexpected promotion Gina. If we could (unlikely) get in the play offs I think we'd win it.

Not a bad night 'Frank Lampard's' Derby County 0. Millwall 1 ..... Nearer Derby for the PO fight AND hopefully Millwall knackered themselves up for Saturday, hope they have a horrendous journey back to London tonight 😘 ⚽️

Bristol will hit the buffers soon surely.

We've got some tough home games coming up. Doesn't mean less points though.

Much rather be playing the likes of West Brom, Bristol City, Sheffield Utd and Leeds ... No probs with them it's the ones near the bottom that we struggle against ....Plastics apart!!!!
Have to agree, it’s teams coming for the win we do better against.. however a good team coming for a point is harder than a poor team coming for a point.. And top teams will start to see a draw playing at Deepdale as a good point
After 11 games we had 6 points , take a look at the next 23 games
People will talk about the injuries which really knocked us over Christmas but that start is the big killer. Thought we where doomed after them first 11 games but now look at us. So frustrating.

pnebraddy87, great post. Highlights that Trev should have sanctioned the January signings in August. I know we were unlucky with injuries but Potts for example has more quality than Harrop for me. Arguably we have the best midfield in the division.

You have to remember that we lost arguably the 3 best performers from preseason though...Bodin Maguire and Harrop affected those 1st 6 games

Why blame Hemmings?
At the start of the season we didn’t need these knew signings, of which onlly Potts is currently playing, we had a very healthy side which was ruined by injury.
For me Th and PR have done a great job and need applauding rather than questioning.

nelson, in my view we needed to do more in the August window. Like you said maybe just Potts more. Some of those were injured with time to do something about it.

Agreed we failed in the summer transfer window. Had we had this squad at the start of the season we would be easy top 6 if not higher.
It is what it is we could have Chicken Farmers in charge who have a manager to persuade them to part with the dosh ... £7million on Brereton and they can't abide him .... we take a punt and just add to the numbers with a young lad who had never played a league game until Feb 2018 who has been absolutely outstanding this year ...... things were looking good and we had strength in depth ..... take 10 major players out of any team and they would be a sorry shadow of what they should be ......
Lay off it is what it is, we are what we are and flipping heck we are taking the big money spending favoured teams to the wire ..... bring it on

Having finished 7th many felt we needed to add a little more quality to be at the top end. I was delighted by the January window and underwhelmed in the summer. Storey is a massive bonus. Wouldn't discount a late push.

I am really hopeful but also aware we are due an indifferent result. Hopefully we can get two positive results before a tough run of home games.

Disagree, many on here thought our squad good enough at the start of the season and were predicting us for the play offs, that’s something that would be more likely without the horrendous run of injuries we had.
TH gets a lot of stick but is policy is to get us as near as self funding as possible and even with the large transfer fees we receive it’s still difficult.
People even suggest we run cheap ticket offers to get in bigger gates, thats really proved successful at Bradford
I’d rather credit TH and the club for giving us hope on one of the lowest wage bills in the league.

We spent the money anyway (Jan) instead of August. Missing Maguire and Bodin early doors was always going to be an issue compounded by Robinson's injury. Nothing against Trev but he ain't going to lose money through owning PNE.
