Probably the best player I’ve seen at Deepdale of his ilk, he wouldn’t fit into an AN team though.
What I loved most about watching Accy dominate a Sunderland side on there own patch was listening to the Blunderland fans singing “we’re by far the greatest team the world has ever seen” when they had a patch of play that brought them back to 1-2 down!! 😂 absolutely shows how far they have fallen..
Big up to Accy though, they look a good side, I’m watching them next Saturday as my lads playing an under 8’s game at half time and I’m quite looking forward to it..

I was in the invincible hospitality beforehand so missed that, however the animosity to him was all over social media prior to the game and I’d imagine that many of those giving him abuse during the game weren’t in there for the warm up either.
He should have acknowledge the fans but not doing didn’t warrant the level of grief he was given IMO
Anyone on here who says they wouldn’t have left for the difference in money he was offered at the latter stages of his carear is also (IMO) lying.

Nowt to do with money Nels, I suppose if he was getting a bad time on Tw&tter it could have coloured his view? But a couple of claps back at the fans who were clapping him and singing his name is just common decency.

I, along with many others on the AKTE clapped him off the pitch after the warm up and he couldn't fail to hear this. He chose not to recognize this at all and the cheers turned to derision. Personally think the silent treatment so have been better. Some players respond positively when angry and I always felt he would do well once the vitriol started. One more thing, signing for us was never an option for him as he was never offered a deal. Mainly due to him being a disruptive influence in the dressing room.

Maybe he was going round the dressing room telling all about the 25 grand a week he had been offered ? That would cause a bit of bother!

Were best shot of him then. If he’s the same at Sunderland that may account for some of their woes.

I can understand Mcgeadys decision to join Sunderland. The chance to play for a manager who in the previous season got the best out of him when his career seemed to be at an all time low. The chance to play for a 'bigger' club? The contract offer in wages and conditions I would imagine are far greater than what we had to offer given his age and stage of his career? I know people say that's he's already made his money in football so wages aren't as important but that's a nonsense (work the least amount for the most amount of money). In any other walk of life you go to work to earn money and we would all move companies for better money doing the same job. With Preston getting a new manager maybe he was concerned he would fit into AN plans or take to his management style. The above being said I was still disappointed that he didn't rejoin us, quite easlity the most gifted player I've seen in a Preston shirt. I don't agree with not acknowledging the fans after a nice reception but he is under no obligation to do so. Maybe it was a lack of class or maybe just dealing with the situation in his own way and wanted to concentrate on the task at hand given Sunderlands struggles. One thing is for sure if he hadn't been such a great player for us then nobody would have given a monkeys about him on his return.

Not defending him but let’s be honest; if the Sunderland fans had seen him giving the north end fans a wave in the plight they were in -it would hardly endear him... having said that he’s history and only a small part of our history

Funny how the bad apple stuff only came out after he left. Not so sure. He's scored for his team and got them back in the game. He should celebrate with the fans who pay his wages and have taken the time to travel to Preston. Not run the length of the field to stick it up the town end. Sums the man up. Personally can't defend it, pleased he's gone and hope he doesn't come back. Again we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

I heard we offered him a deal that would have made him by far our highest paid player. Grayson wanted him back but the club didn't. SG wanted Browning, Baptiste and McGeady all to re-sign but PR didn't want any of them, partly for certain reasons like injuries, or attitude in McGeady's case, and also because PR suspected that SG wanted to move to another club.

I believe Grayson would have kept them in the championship but he wasn't a universal choice with the fan base. Is he currently waiting for the right lesgue one club? Bolton?

Ok, Back on topic, the championship is without doubt the best league to be in imo. So much going for it, exciting, great football and the fact that anyone can beat anyone unlike the premiership where there is a massive gulf between top 6 and the rest. I’d rather be in this league than any other (apart from just 1 season in the premier 😜)

There is always 1 team that gives a l;ate push for the play offs and surprises everyone and this season it could well be us. Talking to a Rover fan yesterday and he was saying he could see pne sneaking into the play offs.

The championship started in 2004-5 so some of those lads wouldn’t qualify.

I’ve been doing some number crunching on our chance of the play offs. It’s looking like it’s going to be a high points total for 6th spot. Around 77+ plus. We’d have to average 2.06 pts a game. Which is asking a lot!
To put that in perspective, Norwich have averaged 1.9pts. It’s a big ask!
